I own 2 of the EBS MicroBass II pedals. One lives on my pedalboard and the other one is kept freestanding for smaller gigs, Acoustic Electric Bass gigs, and for grab and go personal practices. There may be other items on the market that sound more transparent or buttery, but I have yet to find another unit that is more flexible and feature loaded. The EBS MicroBass II is truly the "Swiss Army Knife" of the Bass Preamp / DI pedals. Within the unit you have a - 2 Channel Preamp (Clean and Drive), A/B Switcher (which can also blend the 2 channels), Direct Box, Tube Simulator and Speaker Simulator options, a Bright switch and Enhancer circuit. It has a blendable Effects Loop, so you can choose how much of the effected sound you will send to your amp or mixing console. There is also a Mute switch, that comes in handy for bass changing or tuning. Also added are Aux IN and Headphone OUT plugs, so you can practice with "just" bass, or add in music from your laptop, phone or other music / video source. The unit can be powered by a 9 Volt Battery, a 9 Volt Adapter from a wall wart or other pedalboard power source, and it can also run off Phantom power from a mixing console. I rarely use the Drive channel as a "crunchy" drive, but I still use the channel a LOT. With the Drive control turned to the 9 O'Clock position and with the Mid and Mid Freq controls set according to taste, the MB II offers up some pretty nice warm tones. This is perfect for adding meat to some songs for Electric Bass gigs. For Acoustic Electric Bass gigs, the Drive channel is the main channel I use. It takes out a lot of the string rasp and unwanted overtones normally associated with playing an AEB on stage. In short.... I really dig the MicroBass II. Vollständige Rezension lesen
