It has to be said that the 'old' Lark Rise to Candleford - the National Theatre Production, featured really The Albion'Big' Band with brass, drums ... infact the whole kitchen sink was thrown in with a John Tams classic 'Snowfalls' featured hauntingly. This is a far for mellow production, in line with Ashley Hutchings' more acoustic leaning, during the latter years. That said - it does have its own charm with flashes of excellence. And includes the old lad himself singing a 'John Barleycorn' to boot! A tad 'Rainbow Chasery' - Judy Dunlop sings well ... & Simon Care is a 'steady eddie' on Melodeon. Essential for an Albion Compleat collection - not on the scale of the first one - but very nice - pleased a bit of percussion features.
