Great GPS for the $
This is a great unit for the money. It is small and easy to travel with. I love the blue tooth feature and the detour feature reroutes you fast and the signal strength is great. The only thing I don't like is that the map and POI aren't the most current. There was a mall that opened recently by my and that street wasn't on the system. I was also looking for a best buy near me and there was a best buy that had moved a year ago and the old address was still in the POI. I live near the canada border and travel to canada a lot so it will be nice having Canada maps.This is a great unit for the money. It is small and easy to travel with. I do not regret this purchase at all.
I travel a lot. This GPS allows me to drive like a local. When I get caught in a traffic jam I take the next exit and continue down the back roads like I know my way around. The ETA feature is quite handy, (let's me know when it's time to leave, or if I can stay a bit longer). I would've rated it 5 stars if it could learn or accept changes. Also, was dissappointed that a brand new bridge was not acknowledged on an updated map, but the bridge is still under construction -- I'm tough on ratings!I travel a lot. older unit but still a bargain
nice unit. I like the user interface and the size. This is a secondary unit for me due to the fact that Magellan is no longer supporting this unit. The newest maps you can get for it is 2008-09 and they will charge you $79.99 on the Magellan website for the 3 year old maps on top of that. Not cool..... Other than that it updates fast and has the whole Bluetooth thing going on too. If you could get updated maps this would be a top choice but that small issue just makes a good buy but not the best buy around.nice unit. I like the user interface and the size. I have used the Magellan Maestro 3140 as well as the TomTom One and can definitely tell you that the 3140 is worth the extra money you pay for it. For beginner's, it has Text-to-Speech which means that it tells you to turn left on Elm Street v/s. saying turn left in 200 yards (TomTom). To TomTom's credit, it makes it almost impossible for you to miss the turn by constantly saying "Turn left in 200 yards", "Turn left in 100 yards", "Turn left NOW"...but I found that a little irritating - instead the 3140 will say turn left on Elm Street and give a chime a few seconds before to let you know that the turn is here. Second thing is the POI's - it has 4million as opposed to TomTom's 1 million. I know both sound a lot, but the difference is that the 3140 has 4 times as much information on the ... All in all, this is a great buy.

Why I love my Magellan Maestro 3140 car GPS receiver
I started looking for a gps after using my mom's, that she had also purchased as a refurbished item. I wanted one for when I go to yard sales. I'm not familiar with all the streets of the surrounding cities, especially since there has been so much growth in our area. It's extremely easy to use to find addresses, as well as points of interest such as restaurants. I can temporarily mount it on my windshield & it will walk me thru all the steps. It's easy enough that even my husband can figure it out & find out how to get someplace without stopping to ask for directions. Ha! It also tells you how close you are to your turn while showing street names on the map. The price was in my range as well. The only thing that I've found is that, since it is refurbished, it doesn't have all of the new ...
