    Can't draw? PROVE IT! The Dot is a must-read for all!

    I received this book from a family member a few years ago and have since purchased several copies for gifts. Vashti is encouraged/challenged by her art teacher when the teacher hangs Vashti's signed assignment on the wall. Vashti knows she can do better, so she does! Illustrated in simple drawings with vivid colors, The Dot should be read not only by art teachers and students of all ages, but by kids and parents, and really by anyone who's ever been frustrated. You can't draw? PROVE IT!

    The Dot

    My wife is an art teacher and so she wanted me to order this book. It came in a timely fashion and my wife is really happy with it. I think her kids will love this book.

    This book addresses the frustrations of young artists.

    The Dot by Peter Reynolds is a sweet reminder that art does not need to be fancy to be good. When we put ourselves into the little things we create, loveliness happens. This book can encourage very young artists, the ones who imagine wonderful worlds but their hands can't draw them yet, to start small and go from there. I am an art teacher at an elementary school, and I will be reading this book to all 400 of my little artists.

    An excellent children's book

    This book is great at fostering kids artistic abilities. The reluctant artist, Vashti, is a perfect example of how the main point of art is just to try. This book is the perfect lead in for an art lesson. The illustrations are adorable as well. An excellent choice for the library of creative kids.
