I remember playing the original Pitfall on the Atari 2600. Wow! That game was incredible when it first came out. But that was in the Dark Ages of home video games. This version for the GBA is vastly superior, but it should be. I'm told it is basically the same as the SNES version, but now it's portable. My first impressions: - The graphics are awesome! - There are too many actions to master right away. - Jump, Whip, Crawl, Sling, Climb, wait is that pit moving? - Ok, there's obviously some treasure over there, but how do I get to it??? - Yikes, look out for that wild boar!!! - Monkeys! Oh come on! Snakes AND Monkeys? - Oh look, I bet that idol pointing to the left is worth something. - What? How come I can't pick it up! That sucks! - Cool! I get to swing on this vine. - Whoa! I didn't see that snake hiding on the vine. No fair! - Ok, here I am back at that idol pointing to the left. - Oh!!! I get it. If I die, I go back to the last idol I touched. - Hey that's a lot like the original Pitfall. Neat. Ok, I hope you get the idea. This game is non-stop fun, but HARD. And I've read that the level bosses are almost impossible to kill. Also, there are no game saves. You have to finish an entire level and you get a password to skip that level next time. This game has really been trashed in some online reviews. I don't agree, but don't take my word for it. See for yourself. The original Pitfall was hard, so it this one. There is so much to the graphics they can be distracting, but they are a real treat. Figuring out the levels takes a while too, but that's all part of the game. One parting thought, "Snakes! I hate snakes!"Vollständige Rezension lesen
For anyone who has ever played the original version of this game on the SNES or Sega Genesis, you will most likely be sorely disappointed with this version. Seeing as they removed the soundtrack entirely and completely changed the game structure so that there are no more cool bonus levels, just shortcuts. I feel this game was thrown together in a hurry and pushed onto the shelves to see who would fall into the pit trap they set for anyone wanting to reclaim that old nostalgic feeling...heh..irony. For those who've never played the old versions, this is a great and challenging game with many frustrating parts.
This is a classic game for all ages. This game is a very different game compared to the original Pitfall game that came out on the Atari 2600 system. The only problem that I have with this game is that there is no musical soundtrack to go with it. The original version that was on the WII Virtual Console (Sega Genesis) was flawless in its original soundtrack & great quality of animation that went through to make this game. I bought this to replace the WII Virtual Console version because it was pulled off from the WII Shop Channel since it's license was no longer valid as of Jan 1, 2014. Overall, it's still a great game to play. Thank you very much for your appreciation in selling this game. It will be used tremendously in my family.
this game is ok,some action,it reminds me of the old pitful game, would recommend if you and collecting games
