I'm 46 years old and I consider myself a pioneer of anime since I was buying tapes like Star Blazers, Fist of the North Star, plus the very early years of Anime like Gigantor and Gatchaman since the 80's. I have to say that out of all the anime series I've watched Code Geass is by far in my top 5 of all time. The story takes place in a parallel universe much like our own but with a different set of circumstances as far as world powers go. Lelouch has placed himself in the center of the worlds powerstruggles (mainly against Britannia) to right the wrongs he has witnessed from childhood. Born into royalty he watched his Mother get murdered and sister become blind and paralyzed from an attack from within the Britannia empire he is a part of. The blame goes all the way to his father and now that Lelouch is of age he wants to take down the empire and free Area 11 (Japan) and the world. He is given the special power of Geass from a strange girl which he can use to make people do what he says and not remember him after he has used this power. All he has to do is look into someone's eyes and ask them to do anything and they obey. But, others also have this power and his bestfriend now fights for the Britannian side. You have to watch because the story gets very deep with plots, character study, and a wonderful story that moves fluintly. I give the series a 10 of 10. This DVD set contains episodes 1 to 9. Thanks, JimVollständige Rezension lesen
"Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" is the story of a Britannian youth raised in Area 11 (formerly Japan). This young student, Lelouch Lamperouge (also Lelouch vi Britannia), is given a power called Geass by a mysterious girl named C.C. This power allows Lelouch to control the actions of others. With this power, he becomes Zero and sets out to overthrow the rule of King Charles, the ruler of the Holy Britannian Empire. In Part I, the first 9 episodes are revealed over two discs (5 episodes on disc 1 and 4 episodes on disc 2), with each disc in a separate case (with Lelouch and Suzaku Kururugi featured on the cover art respectively). Overall, this is a good value for those putting together the complete series. The DVD extra features are minimal, but hey, you're buying it for the episodes, right?Vollständige Rezension lesen
I am a fan of Japanese Anime and I must say that I absolutely love one. The story line is phenomenal and the ending is very powerful. Adults can appreciate this anime as well as the teenage group. It is military based and it deals with Japan becoming an independent nation and one character's fight to make it happen. It is a must see!!!!!!!!
This is a good series ever since I saw on Adult Swim, late night shows from Cartoon Network. I like the political story about the 2 forces in the current war, detailed character designs as well as the profiles, and the music is good at any situation of the scene.
this show is one the best shows that I have ever seen. great storyline animation, and voice actors. I love the ambiguity of the characters. definetly a worth while watch. only surpassed by one show, Gunslinger Girl.
