    Don’t miss this noir detective story.

    I’m a big fan of this genre. While it’s strongly associated with Raymond Chandler , et al, here is an outstanding story by little known author Dorothy Hughes. It’s excellent and compelling. She puts the noir in detective fiction, postwar Los Angeles. Highly recommended.

    The Queen of Noir

    This brilliant, still relevant late novel (1963) by the queen of noir, Dorothy B. Hughes, retains the power to shock and surprise after over fifty years. Highly recommended.
