Great movie for someone interested in martial arts and/or autism. I liked that we got to see the character grow into a martial arts hero.

I bought this because i heard it was a real kick-ass movie and i was not disappointed. Although it was not in English, (had english subtitles) it was still a thoroughly enjoyable experience! Ten out of ten.
A kickboxing hero with a difference arises in this action saga from Thailand. Japanese mobster Masashi (Hiroshi Abe) and his Thai partner and girlfriend, Zin (Ammara Siripong), narrowly escape death at the hands of underworld boss Number 8 (Pongpat Wachirabunjong) and his bodyguard Priscilla (Sirimongkol Iamthuam), but the scuffle has unexpected consequences -- Masashi's superiors order him to return to Japan, and Zin finds she's pregnant with his child. Zin raises their daughter, Zen (Yanin Vismitananda), on her own and discovers she's autistic; one of the few things that helps bring Zen out of her inner world is chocolate, and in time the girl develops a remarkable skill in the martial arts. When Zin is diagnosed with cancer, the family cannot afford the chemotherapy that could save her life until her friend Moom (Taphon Phopwandee) comes up with a plan -- plenty of people still owe Zin money from her days as an outlaw, and with Zen as a candy-fueled enforcer, he might be able to get them to pay up and raise the funds for Zin's medical bills. Chokgohlaet (aka Chocolate) was directed by Prachya Pinkaew, who previously made several pictures starring Thai martial arts master Tony Jaa.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Like some of Jackie Chan's earlier movies, this kick-ass masterpiece doesn't go in for faking, for aerial wires and stunt doubles and special effects: the fighting is real - and must have kept the first aid team very busy during production. Remarkably, the hero is an autistic teenage girl who clashes head-on with gangsters trying to cheat her ill mother. Some of the action scenes are not unlike that mega restaurant fight in Kill Bill but more often than not this Thai film goes its own, bone-crunching way with kicks and punches flying in all directions. A classic action film.
One of the best ass-kicking movies around. Better than Ong Bak( in my opinion) . The movie has a wide range of martial arts and stunts. One thing i like about this movie is that it hardly uses special effects. It reminds me of Jackie Chan's earlier movies such as Armour of God and Police Story. Real stunts and real action, storyline is average but the action makes up for it. 9/10
Excellent!! If you like ong bak and warrior king, you definately need to watch this. Proper muay thai as it should be plus a bit more. Well recomended!!
Very good movie, with som of the best thai boxing martial arts put togther. Story line based on a girl who appears to be a quick learner n starts to develop fast skills in fighting in order to save her mother.
Excellent all round. Can't fault it or I'd not have bought it. Anyone who enjoys Japanese Manga or martial arts will love this too.
this is one of the finest movies i have ever seen, so much so my daughter will now be pushed into learning muai tai. Nothing to dislike about this movie unless the sight of people being hurt turns you off then i would suggest a good chick flick and a mug of horlicks
