I encountered Quackshot in my younger days and I recently had a hankerin' to play it, so I went out and got a sega and THE game. What's not to like about this game? Quackshot has some sweet 1991 graphics (they were actually pretty bomb at the time) and some excellent gameplay. Quackshot is a good choice if you're looking for a cheap game that will bring you back to the good old days without a sense of staleness. Surprisingly, the replay value is also there, as I find myself occasionally going back to play it even though I've beaten it 3 or 4 times. The levels become more difficult as you progress, which is done in a slightly non-linear fashion as you choose the levels that you want to play and discover what you will need to do to acomplish your ultimate goal. The scenery and enemies vary with the music, which does a tremendous job of effectively creating an unforgettable atmosphere. There are character upgrades which come in the form of different plungers, Donald's main weapon, as well as plot developments which keep you on the edge of your seat. There are a couple of issues, I suppose. Firstly, the control scheme is a bit weird because you cannot press run and jump at the same time (unless you have some dexterous thumbs!). This minor problem, however, can be aleviated by customizing the control setup at the start of the game. Something else, which is noticably missing, is a difficulty setting. When I was younger, this game seemed pretty difficult... but now that I am much older and wiser, this game, although not a breeze, could certainly do well with a slight increase in difficulty. However, I feel that in this day and age, the target audience of this 16 year old game might not be the younger crowd anymore, but instead the people out there looking back for a sense of nostalgia. For them, like myself, this game is a way to rediscover the joys of Donald Duck, Sega Genesis, and the classic platformer while it was still king!Vollständige Rezension lesen
I found it rather challenging to play this at first, but I managed to make progress. Disney games can be fun to play depending on what they are. So far Donald has been featured in quite a bit of Disney games. Kids might not enjoy this too much because you have to think a lot to make progress. It's not like Sonic where you can keep going on to beat the level. Skill is definitely a factor here. If this is of interest to you, be sure to add it to your collection. Enjoy.
Had loved this game as a kid and just got it used for my son as he got a retro Sega system. Love it and just as fun as I remember.

I love this game. It was always one of my favorites as a kid. I think it was one of the best made for the Genesis.

Game came with 3 levels completed already and on the pause screen where you go to choose power ups & other things you can't see/can't click the options so it leaves you stuck at level 3 :((((
