When I was looking for switch machines for my N scale layout I had a few key points that were important to me. They had to be high quality, remotely operated, easy for anyone to use especially novice operators, and be able to route the power automatically to the frogs. These fit my needs perfectly when used with the New Rail Models flex link kit. They are no harder to install than any under layout switch machine, if you can lay track, drill a few holes and do simple soldering you can install these. The manual throw linkage is easy to install very flexible and adds an element of prototypical brakeman / conductor realism that you don't get from electronically thrown switch machines. The control knob mounts on the fascia and eliminates the need to reach into the layout reducing the chances of broken equipment or scenery. Novice operators do not need to learn how to use another decoder function with DCC layouts. The only drawback I can see is if you have a large completely computer controlled layout that sets the route a train will take automatically, then these are not for you. I like these so much that all future turnouts will be controlled via the Blue Point Turnout Controller, and I will convert my old Peco and Tortoise ones to manual control to get the feel of actually operating a train during switching operations.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Useful for areas that are difficult to reach. It is cheaper than motorized switch machines. It is somewhat difficult to mount. Need easy access under table. The remote actuators are expensive.
