One of the top PC games of 2012, Dishonored offers an incredibly open array of gameplay options, as you can use your myriad combat abilities, stealth and magical powers to bend the world of Dunwall to your whim in your quest. Dishonored was developed by Arkane Studios (whose staff has worked on video game classics BioShock, Half-Life and Deus Ex) and published by Bethesda Softworks (which has also published the games of The Elder Scrolls series, as well as the Fallout franchise). In Dishonored, you will play as Corvo, a bodyguard of Dunwall’s empress. When the game begins, she is assassinated, and you are framed for the murder. Corvo dons a mask and escapes to the city’s underbelly to plot his next moves. As a trained bodyguard, Corvo is already well-armed and well-trained in close combat, but he also encounters a mystical being who grants him some supernatural abilities, like the power to slow time or possess a swarm of rats to do your bidding. The potent combination of combat skills and ability to change the world around you offers the player many options in terms of how you can complete the quests laid out before you. Dishonored allows you to face your enemies head on and prove your melee mettle if you’re content with a more traditional gaming experience, or you can lurk in the shadows and strike when the situation is to your advantage. It’s even possible to complete the game without killing a single enemy, which speaks to the freedom the player has when attempting to solve problems. You’ll meet a fascinating cast of characters across the steam punk city of Dunwall, including sadistic prison guards, scheming mistresses and even a cult called the Brigmore Witches. The graphics render your surroundings in a highly detailed manner, and as you uncover more details about Dunwall, the game becomes a richer and more interesting place. You’ll also learn more ways to use your surroundings to your advantage. Dishonored boasts an impressive 91 rating on Metacritic, which aggregates game reviews into one easy-to-understand score. Minimum hardware requirements for Dishonored include 3.0 GHz dual core processor, 3 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better with 512 MB RAM for a video card. Recommended requirements for the game include 2.4 GHz quad core processor, 4 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better with 768 MB RAM for a video card. Parents should be aware that the game contains some adult language and sexuality that may not be suitable for younger players.

    Buy it and prepare to become incredibly paranoid...in a good way!

    I actually only bought THIS item because I had bought the game before and lost the code. I haven't even opened it so this review is based on the GOTY edition I have, and have played. The game is wonderful, I enjoyed every moment of it. The only complaints I can give, and it's a minor one that can be corrected is that the "Choke" button and the "attack" button are the same so you may want to choke someone for a stealth run and end up alerting the person because you attacked. Once changed to another key, the issue was solved. It's not an easy game to play if you intend to do full stealth and I had to look at a few "let's plays" to figure it out but i got through it with only 2 kills throughout the entire thing and that was only because I tranquilized someone and they fell off the roof :(

    A combination of everything that makes a game great!

    This is one of the best, well written and engrossing games that I've ever played, and I've played all the 1'st person shooter types since the original Castle Wolfenstein. Great story line, and many different ways to complete your goals. The AI is pretty good as are the objectives. It's a little bit of a role playing game, a shooter, stealth, and puzzle solver all rolled into one. If you're the "boss fight" at the end of every level lover, then you may not like this game, because there are no bosses. Instead, this is more of a stealth, thought provoking game similar to "Thief". Graphics are just OK, and may seem a little dated, but they seem to compliment this game.     Honored to play Dishonored.

    Hi There, I've played Dishonored PC version and it's a best stealth FPS game. The game has two different endings based on how you play. Combat skills, Magical Powers and weapons are simply great. Over all the game environment is good. This game has different ways to accomplish the missions. I Seriously Enjoyed each and every Part Of The Game,From Stealth Moves To Corvo's Amazing Powers.Killing Enemies Silently with help of Stealth Moves was the best part of The Game,So many ways to Accomplish Your Objective and Reach Your Checkpoint.     Disappointing

    I had high expectations for Dishonored based on the reviews I saw, but was disappointed. Dishonored is an action, first-person game. You play Corvo Attano, bodyguard for the Empress, who's framed after she's murdered and seek revenge on the framers. Predictable story. Besides weapons, you can employ magic similar to Bioshock 2. However, the story isn't as imaginative as Bioshock, the graphics are less than spectacular and the Unreal engine is showing its age. I was expecting a more open world. However, besides some limited side exploration you're shunted along like any FPS. The NPC costumes are from the 1700s, but there's modern technology like a PA system, which is disconcerting. I gave up about a third that way through.
