Players guide three distinct heroes through the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons lands known as the Forgotten Realms, to correct a mistake and perhaps save the world in the process. By accidentally meddling in an age-old feud between two powerful, demonic hordes, the player's characters have allowed both abysmal armies into our plane of existence. Now the noble characters are honor-bound to make amends, and banish the demons from Faerun once more. The player directly controls one of the three characters and can switch between them at nearly any time. These characters represent the fundamental AD&D archetypes: the burly fighter, who can take at least as much punishment as he dishes out; the agile rogue, who can pick locks and sneak about for surprise attacks; and the resourceful sorcerer, who specializes in a variety of ranged combat spells. Demon Stone is designed to call on the diverse abilities of each of these three characters, so using the right hero for the right job is an important part of play. Characters gain experience and new abilities as they progress through the adventure, but Demon Stone players won't spend as much time number-crunching as they might in other AD&D games. Most of the statistical arithmetic that drives the combat system is applied behind the scenes. While Stormfront's collaboration with AD&D license holder Wizards of the Coast helps ensure that Demon Stone's rules system is accurate to the pen & paper standards, the focus of this game is squarely on the action. Demon Stone is not the developer's first hack-and-slash console RPG. EA Games' well received The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, based on the Peter Jackson film, was also designed by the studio. Stormfront's previous work with the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons license yielded a series of home computer games in the early 1990s, as well as 2001's Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor.

Decent game - worth the money.
I got this game because I'm a big fan of the Forgotten Realms book series. The game play is simple enough - though you should read through the manual to make sure you get little tidbits like the call for help from the other characters, etc. I'm a long-time gamer & I tend to gravitate toward one kind of character, but there were a several in this game I was happy to play. Of course, my favorite being Drizzt in the books, I was excited to see that you get to play as him and fight alongside him at different points in the game. That has to be my favorite part. I liked the fact that the character play was true to the series, though one thing that drove me crazy was the knock-down affect....when a mob hits you, your character is knocked down for an exceedingly long period of time for a single ... Although the game is fun to play, Demon Stone is one of those constrictive-feeling linear RPGs that assume everything and allow no decision-making. Primarily a hack & slash, it's not overly original in its combat system, and it getsold switching from one character to the next every time the game forces you into a situation where only one character's skill will solve the problem (you basically control three characters at a time, except during special fights, like when you control Drizzt). On the positive side, it's a pretty game, and the terrain and ai don't interfere with gameplay, which so many hack & slashers suffer from. There are also plenty of skills and items to accumulate during the course of your adventures. But, best of all, Patrick Stewart and Michael Clark Duncan provide ... Although the game is fun to play, Demon Stone is one of those constrictive-feeling linear RPGs that assume everything and allow no decision-making. Captain Picard's dramatic level introductions were in an over-the-top Shakespearian stage growl, which (yeah, I'm a dork!) I found got me excited to start the new zone. My advice? Go on and buy it if it's cheap, but don't shell out too much for a barely-better-then-mediocre game. 3.5/5 (rounded up to 4/5 above)

worth your time to check out
This game goes by your everyday d&d gameplay You have your sorcerer,assasin, and warrior type playable characters You switch through them throughout your adventure Although this game is relatively short it is worth your time to play The graphics are great and the combat is easy to pick up and fun to use(especially the assasin wewtz salamnder slayin with sneak attacks!!) The plot for this game was also written by one of my favorite fantasy novelists,R.A. This is a game you might want to rent or borrow befor you buy. The graphics and scenes are terrific,you jump between 3 players at game descretion. and thats about it. The game play I thought was weak,minimal interaction with inviroment. The fights were fun but nothing more than a monster bash. It has a very, very small forced coarse with a camera angle that makes it worse. The whole campaign I thought was easy and the story line even easier to forget. This game in no way pushes the x-box capabilities. Hold out for a deal on this one. Not a must have...This is a game you might want to rent or borrow befor you buy. I bought this game because I like RPG's. It has enough action to keep it interesting. What I didn't like about it was you are playing three different characters at one time the entire game. Each character has their own traits and skills. It can be dicey when fighting a boss because you have to switch characters during the fight depending on the skill you want to use. This technique is okay at other times since it gives you more skill options than you would usually be given. Overall not a bad game for the money.I bought this game because I like RPG's.
