I've been a long standing fan of Talking Heads, but will regret to this day that I never saw them live. The live concert Stop Making Sense directed by Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs) I saw during its original cinema release in 1984, totally blew me away. To this day it remains as my favourite music concert. I caught the last half of the Union Chapel gig and Byrne was as good as ever. He performed a few new songs which I liked instantly, but watching him sing the old stuff with similar strange dance moves from Stop Making Sense just made me realise none of the magic had gone. His vocals are unique, his guitar playing is exciting to watch and he's just a joy to watch. Backed up by talented musicians, excellent lighting, camara work and a top notch production, the union chapel is a concert not to be missed.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Bought the DVD about a year after seeing David Byrne at the Brighton Dome - an excellent gig! The DVD is from the same tour although the Brighton gig was rescheduled to about a year later as it clashed with WOMAD. DVD showcases some of Davids mor recent work as well as the all time favorites. The Union Chapel is a magnificent backdrop to this most creative performer. If you like David Byrne or Talking Heads its a real must have!
