I absolutely refuse to buy a phone without a keyboard and the Kyocera Rise is probably one of the most updated phones on their $35/Month plan. Its android 4.0.0 and can do pretty much all the stuff that you'd ever need. I feel like after 4.0.0 alot of the features are just add-ons and other stuff that's cool to have but is definitely an accessory. The keyboard is very comfortable and easy to use and the screen was a good size. Not as small as older phones but not as big as the huge Ipad sized galaxy phones that can barely fit in your pocket. Only downside that i could point out for this phone is the lack of auto-focus which I thought wouldn't be too much of a problem but it doesnt allow you to use things like barcode scanner or allow you to take very high resolution photos. All in all a very good phone that has all the features you'd need but would be alot better if it had auto-focus.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Real talk; It's not the best phone in the world but it gets the job down. The software is fine, it seems to have all the features in terms of software that I need or want. The design of the software is all pretty intuitive. I mean, it's a cellphone not a spaceship. The build of it fine. It's pretty comfortable to hold, small-ish. Which can be either good or bad, depends on your preference. I have small hands, so it's more comfortable for me to hold than larger smart phones. The full slide-out QWERTY keyboard was teh deciding factor for me. Battery life is alright. If you plan on staying the night anywhere, take your charger. If you're like me, and used to non-smart phones that could go for multiple days at a time, the relativity small battery life takes a minute to adjust to. Fairly cheap, cost me about the same as my last phone which was a basic slider. I don't plan on replacing it (or rather "upgrading") anytime soon, aka, I'm content.Vollständige Rezension lesen
I bought the Kyocera because I was jumping off AT&T and needed a pre-paid phone that would allow me to keep my AT&T phone number. I originally chose the Kyocera for it's design: The slide out QWERTY keyboard was perfect to me as I seem to fumble with onscreen keyboard input... Setup- Online was next to impossible, I had to call and personally talk with a service rep. They ARE very helpful, and nice about it.. It appears to have TWO glitches though. One I found a fix for, online and quite by accident: An issue with automatically rebooting- frequently. That was fixed by inserting a very thin piece of cardboard (matchbook cover thickness or slightly less) behind the battery. (Thank you to whoever uploaded that fix!) The second issue I have is with ringtone assignment... I have certain ringtones assigned to certain contacts as well as a main ringtone. Half the phone calls I get come thru paired with the wrong ringtone. Either ringing with the one I use as the main, or sometime in middle of the ring it switches to the assigned ringtone. And I'm half convinced that I'm seeing slight issues with touch screen sensitivity. Overall, It's an okay phone. But not one I plan on keeping for long term use. The only feature going for it the slide out QWERTY... I would only recommend this phone to people looking for that featureVollständige Rezension lesen
I purchased this phone over two months ago. I originally had a touch screen phone from net 10. Not exactly a smart phone, just allowed you to surf the web. What attracted me to this phone, was the fact that it was a slide out, which I love, but it was also a touch screen. It came with android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich. So this was my first smart phone. So compared to my old phone, it's definitely a step up. I love basically everything about this phone, besides the battery life. Although the battery life obviously varies by how much you use it. If you use it for standard talk and text, instead of playing games and searching the web, then you can get a good 2 to 4 days without charging. Yet if you use it play games, surf the web, etc, then you're gonna have to charge it each night. Overall, I love this phone. Good quality phone reception, good picture and video quality, boots up fast, and has lots of awesome already installed apps.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Kyocera rise is the only smart phone with Qwerty keyboard that works with Assurance Wireless. For some reasons, my hand cannot do touch all the time, especially when typing. So, keyboard is a must. My old 3 year old had died so I have to replace it. This one cannot handle multiple and fast task like the old one. And the navigation is a bit error, but perhaps not from the phone itself. Camera quality is not so good. Kind of blurry, not 3 MP like it should. I have an old and simple Samsung camera with better picture quality.
