I have a machine shop background, and several high end custom knives as well as daily carries. Belt sharpening is the only way to go, and this sharpener has easy change belts from course to extra, extra fine. Within a minute or two including belt changes, any knife has a literal razor edge. My Ron Newton and Jimmy Lile knives (I'm an Arkansan), down through my every day carry (ATS-34 blades) and on to my kitchen knives, now maintain easy to do and beyond factory level edges. I'm very impressed and quite grateful with this sturdy and custom-grade, blade sharpener!

This product is well designed and the instructions are easy to follow. I have, for years, tried to sharpen knives with Arkansas stones and other sharpening tools and while they worked, it was labor intensive and the results were never consistent. I first saw this product being used by employees of Benchmade knives at the companies booth and display during the NRA Annual Meeting in Nashville. They serviced and sharpened my Benchmade knife with this tool. The edge was perfect and if it is good enough for the hard working technicians at Benchmade, it is more than adequate for me. My wife is delighted that I can now keep all of our serious kitchen knives sharp. Before purchasing this tool, I would take our kitchen knives to an individual every two or three months for them to be sharpened by him using a bench mounted grinding tool. The cost was generally $20.00 for five or six knives and over the years, I could have easily purchased a Work Sharp tool, if one existed at that time. Now if have my own and I have recommended it to my friends.Vollständige Rezension lesen

I purchased this sharpener based on much research and customer feedback. I does an outstanding job in sharpening knives and minor re-profiling. To give it a test, I began with my 1/4 inch spine Ontario Afghan fixed blade knife. The bevel was an asymmetrical 25 plus or minus 2.5 degrees. Following the instructions for Outdoor Knives, I re-profiles to 22.5 degrees and then used the directions for Ridiculous Sharp. It worked and now my heavy duty chopper slices paper with push or pull cuts. It took about a half hour to do this one blade. My other knives both outdoor and kitchen took only about 5 minutes per blade. All of them are now sharp. I highly recommend this tool for sharpening knives. However, you really should purchase the Ken Onion Blade Profiler if you want to quickly profile knife blades, axes, etc. or to set a 90 degree spine on you knife.Vollständige Rezension lesen

I have had many sharpeners over the years, from whetstones to many mechanical grinder/sharpeners, but this hands down is the best sharpener that I have ever used. Sharpens razor sharp for a wide variety of blades, including cheff knives, serrated blades, scissors, pocket knives and hunting knives. The adjustable edge angle allows the perfect angle on my thin angle shuns, as well as the broader german knives. Easy to use and highly recommended!

I've used this on several different types of knives. Hunting, pocket, kitchen, knives. I can get a good edge, but not a sharp edge enough to slice paper. Seems the belts were out pretty quick. It will take nicks out of a blade. It works great, changing out the belts is pretty easy.
