Solid built knife. Blade was very sharp out of box. I have used this knife for just about anything you can do with a knife. The blade is a very good steel, but it will take on discolorations. This does not bother me at all. When the blade does not cut like a razor, do to use, a little time with a sharpening steel is all that is needed to turn it back to razor sharpness. I am very happy with it.

It's a great knife for a 6 year old to learn how to use properly, and it's handy in the kitchen for a 60 year old. From opening up deer, to your next eBay/Amazon order, this seems to be a good all around pocket knife. While it lacks the modern opening/locking of current production knives, properly maintained, this can outwork them. Few have the drop point hollow ground profile in a folder, with a strong lock generations before depended on. I love the 5160 steel in this profile, I feel it's easy to get a scary sharp edge, and one that's there after a days task. 420 can get sharp, but it doesn't last. I remember making money of a friend who filled his tags, and his 420 110 was used on everyone of them. I know, I cleaned the guts off and sharpened it after each time. Each time I got it, was dull as a pizza cutter. I dressed deer with a 5160 blade 112, and mine was sharp after I was done. I could open mail, a bag of dog food, then go out for steaks, and use it when the cutlery starts to suck(1 I washed it after the hunt, and 2 every guy knows what I'm talking about at the steak house). You don't need high speed diamond stones(they help, but it's over kill), a good hone and polish strops do a fine job. It reminds me of a certain brand's Carbon V, that was big a few decades ago.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Buck's have been making the 110 folding knife for many years right here in the USA. Great steel in the blades and they stand behind their product.

I was very impressed with this knife. Excellent workmanship. Solid, hefty, no blade wobble at all. Just plenty of good ole American quality. The 112 is just the right size being slightly smaller than the 110. Really nice sheath that works just fine and there are no rough edges on the knife so you could carry it in your pocket and it wouldn't rub a hole in your pocket. The machining is top notch and everything fits nice and tight. I don't think you can beat this knife for the money and it's American made.

I have around 100+ Buck 110s in various styles handles and blades but this one is among my favorites. I really prefer carbon steels as I like the old ways and traditions. The oak handles are a nice touch and are actually an Oak laminate much like the typical Ebony Dymondwood used on standard 110s but they look very nice and are super durable. I blued my blade with cold blue to give it a "patina" like an old knife and have been carrying it for many weeks already in a paddle holster. I have been cutting up boxes at work, a couple of squirrels, and some various hoses and such working on my truck and I love the 5160 steel, it is just so tough and a quick touch on my ceramic stone has it shaving sharp again.
