Great family fun
Was as described. Great condition and the shows were great! I have always been a fan of Greek myths and with a Jim Henson twist on it it was great! The story of Daedalus and Icarus, Perseus and Medusa, and Theseus, and the Minotaur (interesting enough Theseus was played by David Morrissey, who was "the Governor" in the Walking Dead). I enjoyed all the stories, creatures, and sets. Michael Gambon the narrator (the second Dumbledore did a fantastic job.) I wish the stories went into more details but I figure they had time limits and they wanted them to be family friendly. I also recommend the John Hurt Story tellers videos.Was as described. The best literature on your screen...
I will never understand why this jewel was not succesful on TV. I was a teenager when I watched "The Storyteller" for the first time and I just fell in love with it. Maybe it was because I knew absolutely every Russian or German tale the narrated. The characters are great, the effect of the environments were lovely and the endings likely for every member of the family. Now that I am a teacher in Elementary School, I took my time to show these tale to my fourts graders and they fell in love, too.I will never understand why this jewel was not succesful on TV. I got this for my son's family and they think it's great!. My 10-year-old granddaughter said that the Greek Myths are "deeper" than other tales from Storyteller.

A beautiful production of timeless classics that uses the rich language of the storyteller, combined with excellent character portrayals and effects, to recreate the magic of narrative. These myths live and breathe again, recapturing their significance to their people and conveying the truths of the human condition which convey so many basic lessons, so appropriate to the developing child. As a teacher, this series was a diamond that added a stimulating and fascinating facet to our study of mythology.A beautiful production of timeless classics that uses the rich language of the storyteller, combined with excellent character portrayals and effects, to recreate the magic of narrative.
