    Mercury Rising

    Take off your thinking caps and toss 'em in a corner, 'cos you won't need 'em when you're watching this deliriously dumb thriller from 1997. Bruce Willis stars as a demoted FBI agent who comes to the aid of an autistic boy whose mind holds a potentially deadly secret. It seems that by gazing on a puzzle magazine and making order out of a hidden system of numbers, the 9-year-old autistic boy (Miko Hughes) has accidentally deciphered a sophisticated top-secret government code. This makes him the prime target of the ruthless bureaucrat (Alec Baldwin, in one of his silliest roles) and Willis comes to the rescue. This formulaic thriller sets up this plot with a lot of entertaining urgency but you can't give any thought to Mercury Rising or the whole movie collapses under the weight of its own ...

    Pulse Rate Rising

    Brilliant Movie. The plot might seem typical, the Establishment versus Humanity, but the acting of the autistic nine year old will touch your heart! Bruce Willis, NOT my favourite actor is Superb. The only film he acts better in is Tears Of The Sun. Used to own it on VHS and am delighted to now have it again on DVD . . . buy it!

    About autism

    I bought this DVD because we have already seen the film and we want our own copy. We have a 3 year old autistic daughter and want to compile a library of DVDs and books for our own reference and to lend to friends and anyone else interested in autism. We think that autism is portrayed very well and realistically by the boy in this film. Some things were so familiar to us that we commented that our own daughter was portrayed at times. We laughed and cried at different points in the film, and the plot was very engaging. I recommend the film both as an entertaining experience in its own right as well as useful for anyone wanting to find out a little more about the autistic mind.

    i buy this because my son is autism as this film is about the boy who is autism who broke the n.s.c code. great actor bruce wills
