Product Information

Following a spur-of-the-moment escape from an Oregon prison, macho ladies man Joe Blake (Bruce Willis) and sensitive, hypochondriac Terry Collins (Billy Bob Thornton) become the best-known thieves in the country. Deemed "The Sleepover Bandits," Joe and Terry add a twist to conventional bank robberies by taking the bank manager hostage the night before the heist and accompanying him/her to the bank first thing in the morning. With the help of Joe's cousin, Harvey J. Pollard (Troy Garity), a simple, aspiring stuntman, "The Sleepover Bandits" rob their way down to southern California with hopes of making it to Mexico. Joe and Terry's partnership and friendship is tested, however, when they each fall in love with Kate Wheeler (Cate Blanchett), an unhappy, unappreciated housewife who deems herself their hostage and ultimately finds herself attracted to both men. Directed by Barry Levinson (DINER, RAIN MAN, WAG THE DOG), this somewhat quirky comedy features fine performances from Willis, Thornton, and Blanchett and is a nice departure from the average buddy film. Levinson's framing of the story through the reports of a true-crime show is particularly interesting.

    Bandits

    I did not think they made funny and clever movies anymore, this one is several years old, but it is FUNNY. A bit of Butch and Sundance and a bit of the Sting and there it is. Cate Blanchett had me researching her movies on the internet, and YES, I know her, but I did not know her in this movie, she is that good!!! They all are that good. I have to wonder why Angelina would EVER leave Billy Bob or Demi would EVER leave Bruce. YUK... Brad and Ashton. These two are the real men. Laugh till your sides ache.I did not think I would like it at all. Guess what??? I was soooo WRONG. ANNIE I have sent an email to everyone on my list to see this precious movie. and who knew Troy? whatever his name is. talk about a scene stealer...what else has that kid been in??? Annies-Attic1

    Alot Of Fun

    This movie was a surprising mix of comedy drama and twists and turns..Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton play two escapees looking to make one more big score before retiring for good..Billy Bob is hysterical as a clumsy hypochondriac...Bruce is old buddy who caters to his phobias together they make a funny bankrobbing team..when Billy Bob accidently bumps into Cate Blanchet the laughs grow louder and the romance begins..the story line is great, the acting is alot of fun the ending is sure to please any romantic out there..be sure not to leave the room during the final bank heist you wont want to miss this one!! I give this movie 5 out of 5 bars!!

    Worth the $$

    My husband and I have rented this movie more than once. We both like it a lot so the small investment, slightly more than the rental is well worth it. Now that we own it we can rewatch whenever we want. Didn’t see that twist coming the first time, great ending! Shipping was fast too!

    Fun.and interesting,

    Characters are both fun and interesting. This is a great movie to add to your movie library if you're a fan of Billy Bob Thornton and Bruce Willis, they have great chemistry, and they they not only work well with each other but great with Cats Blanchett, I highly recommend this movie.
