The Tyrant and Tantilizing Tudors! A-
The royal ruckus of Modern Britain is compellingly captured in this series. The theme tells the tale of how life during this enthralling era was imposed with the duality of politics and religion co-existing to suit the dictatorship of the Catholic Church and the relentless and rigid reign of one man. Yet as most conventions constructed by conflicting talented tyrants and persons in positions of power, greed and demise are welcome by clashing egos. King Henry III, although far too handsomely portrayed in this series, callously submits to his desires enabling his carte blanche mentality to repress Catholicism and disregard the sanction of marriage and own much regard for human life. Very dramatic. Very Brutal. Yet a great watch if you are fascinated and educated about the truth of Anne ... The royal ruckus of Modern Britain is compellingly captured in this series. Her perseverance and silent confidence is admirably noted, as is how she fell victim to those threatened by her diverse awareness, political involvement and powerful ability to halt greed and bring forth truth.

Tudors - The Complete Second Season (DVD, 2009, 4-Disc Set, Widescreen)
Season 2 is as fabulous as Season 1 but it carries a much stronger political and sinister undercurrent. The young royals are growing up and Henry is at the head of the pack. The writers have really made an effort to produce a more historically accurate storyline and it shows. Jonathan Rhys-Myers is a fantastic Henry. He has nailed Henry's personality so well that it's positively goosebumpy as you view the frightening character of the real Henry emerging; creepy, piggy, obsessive, mean-spirited and in serious need of anger management. The intensity is all there and JRD really grows Henry's character as the story unfolds. Who cares if he doesn't look a jot like the real Henry VIII? The costumes are beautiful and interesting-- Tudor with a twist--the actors all all wonderful: Peter O'Toole ... The costumes are beautiful and interesting-- Tudor with a twist--the actors all all wonderful: Peter O'Toole (very popish), Jeremy Northam (playing Sir Thomas Moore), Henry Cavill (Henry's buddy and major eye candy), Natalie Dormer (the complex and compelling Anne Boleyn), Maria Doyle Kennedy (supurbly displaying Catherine of Aragon's strength-of-character), Nick Dunning (a very creepy father to Anne) and James Frain (the evil Cromwell) are all wonderfully cast as are the others not mentioned here. It's a pleasure to watch such a great series and such great actors; one that doesn't pander poo to the lowest common denominator. Intelligent scripts, good historical details and a riviting cast make Season 2 a real winner.

The Tudors 2nd season
I so love the Tudors! I was debating on this series because there is something about Royalty that can give the impression of snobbery or a Holier Than Thou attitude-which yes I am aware it's fiction but I am not referring to that-but this show portrays the characters on a human level & keeps someone coming back for more!

'OK,' I have to admit that the Tudors is sexy, historical fiction that is totally addictive. If you enjoy great plot lines, excellent drama and the illusion of being a part of history, you are going to love the 2nd season of this terrific series. Although history is conflicted regarding the details of Henry the VIII and the king's dallying, including his affairs with multiple Boleyn sisters, there is no question the Second Season accurately portrays Henry's appetite for beautiful women. His relationships with Ann Boleyn and her sister were recently portrayed in the movie "The Other Boleyn Girl," based on the book by the same title. Be careful, this series is addictive. You could easily find yourself moving from episode to episode and wind up blowing an entire weekend watching the two ... Once you've watched Season One, Season Two is something you will definitely want to add to your collection!

History is a great story!
This movie is not for children because it has some nudity and violence. The story line is interesting and the characters are very engaging. The story moves along and you cannot wait for the next one. Never boring and it is pretty close to the truth as far as history goes. It made me go back and read the history of King Henry's wives.....truth is stranger than fiction yes indeed!
