I was hesitant about getting this since I traditionally have played higher gain Mesa/Boogie amps. But the band has disbanded and I needed a lower wattage utility amp for home. I'm VERY happy with this purchase. Now - it will NOT do high gain rectifier stuff (or scooped Mark settings which sound even better than rectifiers)... but I can get a very agreeable chunky tone by simply running an old Boss Metal Zone straight into the clean channel of this thing. The super-fat, warm 6V6 goodness wrapped around the Metal Zone's heavily clipped signal produces a very Mesa-esque chunk. I love it. Meanwhile, turn that off and I'm sitting right in Deluxe Reverb-ville, which is the happiest clean channel ever invented. Very nice. Finally, add in the "burn" channel with its two independent gain stages, and I actually have the most versatile combo amp (when adding my Metal Zone to the mix) that I could possibly ask for. Volume level: a very loud 122 watts.... compared to any 20 watt EL84 combo, these 6V6s just handle more power and kick out more volume. I can't believe the difference, frankly: it's REALLY loud. Overall: extremely satisfied: not a single bad thing to say about it... maybe could use a "mid" know on the clean channel, but where they have it is fine with me so not really a big deal there.Vollständige Rezension lesen

An all around great amp. The clean channel stays clean w/ plenty of headroom to play with a full band. The drive channel sounds amazing, and is very responsive and versatile. I set mine at 9:00 and 9:00 and usu. just tweak gain 1. In some ways it's actually a 3 channel amp, since there is a "Fat" mid-boost circuit on the vintage/clean channel. Add in 1 drive pedal that adds a slight overdrive on both channels, and then it's more like a 5 channel amp. I play soul, funk, rock, country--this amp would work for any genre.

I've owned several Supersonic 22's and one 60. The 22 had plenty of power and bottom end. The sixty was a bit too much. I see other reviews speaking of hiss and hum. The first generation had an issue with the reverb tank connections. This was remedied in later models. All tube amps make some noise. Frankly any hi gain amp is gonna make some noise without a noise gate. I love the SS22. My favorite fender amp period.

I have and have had many vintage fenders. The 6V6 amps being my favorite. This amp sounds as good as any of my vintage deluxe amps and has, what I consider, the best overdrive channel fender has ever produced. I understand everyone has a sound In their head that they search for....I found mine in this amp.

Tried many big and small and they were all missing that "something special". I bought the Super Sonic based on reviews. Having never played or heard the SS I was taking a risk. The owner added a WSG speaker and I have to tell you, this amp really is the best sounding amp I have ever played. I'm sure there are better at 1 specific tone but this amp compliments pretty much any style and you can dial in very sweet tones quite easily. This is the only amp I have kept over 5 years.
