We bought the newest Barrel of Monkeys. My granddaughter and I (and others) could only get one or two monkeys each time. It was disheartening and not fun until I read reviews which said the same thing. Reviewers said to get the older versions. I decided to get the oldest I could find and have not been disappointed. We've been able to get up to 9 monkeys at a time, and my granddaughter actually wants to play the game (she didn't with the new version). It has to do with the hands of the monkeys--they changed them for some reason. Anyway, look on ebay and get the oldest that you can find. I haven't played with the 1980s version and it might be good, but I know the 1960s one is!

I was looking for early 1960’s games and this fit right in. Good shape and will be fun to have. Thanks!

Pure and simple fun for anyone - even cats. Making monkey chains encourages dexterity, patience, and focus. Can also be a quiet game - no noisy dice. Encourages creativity - we often find the monkeys hanging in unexpected places around the house.

Great product! Takes me back to 1970 when I had my first set of Monkeys!

This was truly a one of a kind item that I purchased. It was still wrapped in its original plastic. The label and the instructions along with the monkeys inside the barrel are in mint condition!
