The 27' iMac is a very powerful computer. Two hard drives, one SSD with all the application and then the SATA with the data. I admit that I did experience some difficulty transfer my data to the machine and getting it in the right locations. Thanks to the Experts at Apple for their assistance! Apple customer support is not exceptional, but they are tireless in their pursuit getting it right, NO OTHER computer manufacture can hold a candle to their service. The iMac is awesome and is the best computer I've ever used. The screen is large and flawless, and the ability to move open folders around is a positive production element. I am a very happy customer as I found this fantastic machine with great software, thank you Ebay. RCABQ

This all in one computer was purchased primarily for music production using Pro Tools software. I also have a Macbook Pro laptop but it was not optimally set up for this use and is used more for live gig PA control duties. As far as design, no one makes nicer looking or cleaner machines than Apple. The understated elegance of the minimalist styling manages to catch the eye based on its simplicity alone. Simplicity carries over to the interface which is much friendlier than Windows machines, even though I work on Windows boxes and am very familiar with them. This computer has two internal drives: a blazing fast 256 GB solid state drive serves as the system drive. This is my first SSD, and I am fully impressed with the speed and quietness of the unit. The best way to set up a production computer is to record to a drive that is not already carrying your system load. This is covered by a 1TB 7200 rpm SATA drive, and works like a charm. The 27 inch screen is nothing short of spectacular. Plenty of real estate for the many windows used, and a great method of managing them in the OS (Lion 10X). I have both a Magic-mouse and a trackpad, but use the trackpad almost exclusively. It would take a volume to explain all they can do with finger gestures, but suffice it to say the units and OS work in harmony to do different things depending on how many fingers you touch with, and how you move them. It's a definite "wow moment" for PC users when they use either one (yes, the entire top of the mouse is a sensor, and it works the same as the trackpad!). The keyboard and overall footprint of the unit means you can get a huge screen into a really small amount of desktop. Very clean, the CD unit (an Apple SuperDrive RW CD/DVD) is in the side of the screen, and all connectors (A bunch of them, including firewire and Thunderbolt) are on the back. You really can't comprehend how truly good these machines are without working on one in your environment. A short test drive at an Apple Store will impress, but the true impressiveness comes in using it the way YOU use it where you work (or play). If you are looking for a machine that is fast, friendly, has stunningly good graphics (2GB video card on this one), and including fun stuff like "FaceTime" and access to the App Store library, I can assure you it will make your computing experience better, faster, and all-around more productive. I think I have come back to the "Mac Guy" fold after many years as an occasional user, they're just that good.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Is is possible that Apple got too cute for their new iMac 27" for Feb 2011 release? I think so. By alienated themselves even further from the rest of us so-called converters from PC's, Apple has managed to make it even harder to connect to their new iMac 27" by adding the new thunderbolt port in lieu of their old mini display port...which by the way, practically nothing connects to! If you are looking for a complete conversion to Mac only and will never have to connect anything to it such as a playstation, Wii, XBOX360 or any other PC (unless they have a thunderbolt connection, LOL) then forget this and opt for an older model. Don't get me wrong, the performance is lighting fast, the beautiful LED screen is amazing and the software bundle it comes with is impressive, but for the money I'd have to say that Dell, Lenovo and HP have it all over the iMac 27 2011. If they offer a new model in 2012, I'd like to see them regress and add some additional connections like HDMI to make it easier for the rest of the world to connect to it. Going from pc to apple was easy..theirs baby comes with everything to make the conversion totally efficient and enjoyable. It's super fast , set up with $1000s of programs that would add an extra $ 2000 to apples fastest machine...boot up time is in the blink of an eye and parallel 8 program let's me use windows without reboot. The seller has been extraordinarily helpful and has responded with hours to emails seeking assistance and has sent upgrades for programs as well. Would suggest this machine ...I bought it for $ 3500....-a comparable one with less RAM and smaller SSD would cost $ 100 less directly from Apple with none of the software.
I have had my fair share of PC’s in the past, but this iMac 27 is the most thought out computer I own and I love it. I am an iMac user for life now. If you are an iPhone and an iPad user, having an iMac will tie everything together. A bonus on an 2010 iMac, you can use it as a target display to connect other laptops via mini DP connection.
