New camera, old ideas, using a fixed focal length lens and your own two feet to take pictures, instead of a wide-medium telephoto. Certainly there are a few places this doesn't work, like in very close quarters where a wide angle would be better (the 35mm on a 24mm sensor is like a 50mm on a 35mm film camera). But then that zoom is always in the bag right? The quality is certainly better than with a [bundled] 28-55mm zoom, the autofocus is much faster and more accurate, and quieter. The macro capability vastly better. The aperature wider and brighter. The lens smaller and lighter (although not as small or light as you might expect). Switching from an economy 55-200mm to a full frame Nikon 70-300mm zoom it was hard to go back to the cheap bundled lenses that offered relatively poor performance. The 35mm offers the same high quality you would expect from Nikon. But if you are a sit back and zoom sort of person this lens won't work for you!Vollständige Rezension lesen

Great basic prime lens for Nikon DX cameras - it's pin sharp & fast. The 35 equates to about 52mm on a full frame camera. In other words it is the standard focal length. If all you have is the kit lens, then I suggest that you buy one of these for your kit. It is inexpensive, and although the body is mostly plastic, it does have a metal mount. It is the basic, sharp, fast lens every photographer should have at their disposal. All in one zooms are great, but there are plenty of times that this simple, great in low light situations lens is all you will need. You will just have to zoom with you feet.

First of all, the product came quickly and was well packaged. The first picture that I took with this lens I was blew away. So easy to get great background blur and it was tack sharp. 35 mm is a great focal length for my cropped sensor Nikon. Allows me to take great indoor photos, while taking in more field of view. if you're in to portraits, you would want to consider the 50 mm as well.

Love using this lens, and for 140 used it's a great value I use it as my go to lens for street photography, and take it as my primary lens most places. At 1.8 - 3.5 it is slightly disappointing in terms of sharpness, but is expected from this price point. My friends sigma 35mm 1.4 blows this away even at 1.4 wide open, but there's also a 600 dollar difference. The lens gives decent bokeh and has been great for low light photography. It focuses pretty quick and quietly but struggles when there isn't strong contrast at the focus point.

I planned to spent New year eve in Newyork, Am pretty much sure that my kit lenses will not work in low light and night photos. Kit lens need Higher ISO settings which will not give good photos . More over kit lenses are not sharp. I cant use tripod and spend more time in taking photos because all my friends will get frustrated if I do it. So I need a compact lens which will take photos on the Go and it needs to be sharp and bright . Nikon f1.8 gave me what I need. This lens is very sharp in low light conditions(almost no light). 35 mm is perfect for street photography ,and 35 mm focal length will work for almost 90% of the situations if you are using in street. I got impressive JPEG photos from RAW file.
