Shipped very quickly, packaged well and the book was better than described. This little cookbook is great. Both my daughters had them when they were little and it remains today one of their favorite childhood memories. What a Way to PUSH People around! Extra Cerebral.
PUSH is a highly cerebral sci-fi film directed by Paul McGuigan. Mainly filmed in Hong Kong, this film gives us a peak into the lives of people with extraordinary powers. The cinematography is unusually highlighted as the city helps bring alive this twisted tail mystery and intrigue. Nick (Chris Evans) happens to have a special gift. Since he can move objects with his mind, undercover operatives for the government label him as a "Mover". Other people in this film with extreme telekinetic abilities include "Sniffers", who can see the recent past events by smelling objects, "Shadows" can keep things hidden, "Shifters" can temporarily change the appearance of an object, "Pushers" can plant memories and ideas into other's minds, and ... Chris, who escaped 10 years ago, is hiding in Hong Kong to avoid detection. Cassie (Dakota Fanning), who is only 13 appears out of nowhere. Cassie is a "Watcher". Both together come together to solve a puzzle about the deaths of him and her both. That's when they meet up with Kira (Camilla Belle), who recently escaped the Division as well. Kira is a "Pusher", who can plant ideas and make anyone believe anything she wants. Nick, Cassie, and Kira begin on a journey to beat the Division's incessant drive to track them down and enslave them once again. PUSH also introduces us to other psychic members in the Hong Kong district who intend to do their own kind of harm to the trio. The special effects are superb, especially in the fight scenes featuring Agent Victor Budarin (Neil Jackson), who can shield himself from bullets and send people flying across the room with a swish of his hand. The chinese bad guys also have a knack of screaming something at you and it melts your brain. I wish they had more heads exploding from that kind of ability, but I guess they need to hold that to a minimum to balance off the film. The hiding of a complete building complex by a "Shadow" was a real neat concept. The only thing that I didn't really like about the film was when tried to get drunk to enhance her powers and wound up passing out and no one seemed to have cared. Oh well, you normally have one senseless segment in a film that makes it a bit naughty for children to watch. Overall, this film was worth watching again to catch the subtle nuances of the story line. I'll give this a 4/5 for the story-line and scenery. This film reminds me of another film called "Scanners" that came out in the early 80's. IF YOU LIKE THIS REVIEW, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO LET ME KNOW BY VOTING. THANKS!

The special effects in the fight scenes featuring Agent Victor Budarin (Neil Jackson), who can shield himself from bullets and send people flying across the room with a whisk of his hand, are particularly well done. Evans holds his own as the reluctant hero, and Fanning is, as always, a formidable presence on screen. Hong Kong itself is another character in the film, providing a crowded, fast-paced, anonymous backdrop for the action.

A lot of action, a lot going on in this one
Chris Evans (Fantastic 4) plays the lead character along with Dakota Fanning (TAKEN) and Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond). I am still trying to decide if this is a Science Fiction movie or an action movie or an adventure, or maybe it is a combination of the three. It really doen't matter, it was a great and entertaining movie no matter how you classify it. The premise centers around Nick (Chris Evans) who is a mover (Moves things with his mind) and Cassie (Dakota Fanning) who is a watcher (can predict the future). The two are searching for Kira (Camilla Belle) who is Nick's girl from the past. They are being tracked by Hounsou and this really gets complicated if I even try to explain what everyone is doing. Between the guys who can read minds, the guys who blow you up by ... Chris Evans (Fantastic 4) plays the lead character along with Dakota Fanning (TAKEN) and Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond). The movie has some violence and some suggestive scenes but is pretty clean otherwise and it was very enjoyable. I rate this movie a 4 of 5 it was a pretty good movie that I enjoyed watching.

Push Me off a cliff
This movie was almost unforgivable. Really. It stars Chris Evans as Nick and Dakota Fanning as Cassie. The premise is that there are people with special abilities who can predict the future, use telekinesis, "push" people with mind control, and smell or touch objects and know about their history. Sounds cool, right? These people are sometimes hunted down and exploited for their gifts or forced to take drugs in an attempt to boost their powers, but the vast majority of people die from the effects. Sounds like X-Men, that could be fun.......WRONG. First off, Mr. Flame-on from Fantastic Four couldn't be more pathetic if he tried. He has no grasp on his power and can't even make a dice land right to save his life. Cassie comes to him for help with her problems and ... This movie was almost unforgivable. Really. Cassie comes to him for help with her problems and while she's better at predicting the future than he is at moving things, she has to draw it and doesn't have much artistic skill so she's guessing at best. There's a long drawn out plot about running away from bad guys and trying to free Cassie's mom and trying to make a plan by not planning and using memory loss to foil other psychics, but it results in a confusing plot that you lose motivation to even bother following because you simply don't care about the characters. I never felt drawn in by what they were doing or emotionally connected to a single one because I never felt they care about EACH OTHER. Chris Evans comes off as shallow and almost ditzy. Dakota Fanning tries to take charge and lead the merry group but doesn't get taken seriously. Who could blame them? She tries to get drunk (the character is 13 years old by the way) to enhance her skills because her mom was an alcoholic and it does nothing but make her pass out......and NO ONE bothers to check on her! She's young and drinking and blacks out and no one makes sure she's ok? How am I supposed to care what she does if no one else does?? The big scene from the trailer where they are fighting in a restaurant ("Can you push me before I pull the trigger?") is anti-climatic, takes place somewhere in the middle of the movie, and just proves how bad Nick is at telekinesis! The bad guys sure weren't threatened! He's moving guns around the place and they are horribly jerky, the effects are terrible. This scene was supposed to be a big deal and I was left saying, "That's it?" Camilla Belle plays Kira who is also a pusher suffering from drug withdrawal and supposedly has a past relationship with Nick and they are supposed to be having friction from the way things ended between them, but I never really felt any animosity and when they made up, it was very quickly and I didn't believe the intimacy. I felt like that was tacked on because we needed some romance and if Chris had to get it on with Dakota it would have been messed up and wrong? I'd say it was like they were trying to hard but I really think they didn't try much at all. The roles were kinda phoned in and it was a snooze to watch. The only interesting character was Pop Girl played by Xiaolu Li. She was Dakota Fanning's rival psychic and she was kinda fun to watch in a Gogo from Kill Bill kind of way. Sorry, but you are much better off renting any of the X-men movies, even 3 which was the worst of that group.
