  • An A+ for David Pogue's Windows 7 Book

If you are looking for a book that explains Windows 7 "issues" with easy explanation, you have found the perfect book. An excellent reference tool to have at any desk. You need to understand something about Windows 7, David Pogue delivers. His common-sense approach and detailed descriptions help users to find the understanding they really want. After teaching adult education for almost 20 years, I am always looking for the next great book that brings new knowledge to the table and can also be explained in the classroom. This book gave me new ideas on how to present the latest issues with Windows 7. I can also have students buy the book to learn even more of what David Pogue is teaching in his book series (including other booklets in his collection).

  • Best Windows 7 Manual Available

Forget “The Dummies Guide for Complete Idiots In a Nutshell”, this is the real deal. The “Missing Manual” series claims to be “the book that should have been in the box”, however at 904 pages, if it had been in the box with my new laptop, it nearly would have doubled the weight! Like many users, I skipped Windows Vista, preferring to stick with Windows XP, so going to Windows 7 was a bit of a shock. (Gadget? What is thees “gadget” and why do I need such things?) Pogue has taken special pains explaining what has changed to those of us who avoided Windows Mother-May-I. If you’re making the XP-to-7 leap, THIS IS THE BOOK YOU NEED. I wish I had this book when my laptop crashed (Windows 7 is much improved, but you still can get the Blue Screen of Death, and I did). If I’d had “Windows 7: The ...

  • This manual SHOULDN'T have been missing!

I recently went from Windows XP to Windows 7! I was so lost and aggravated and irritated. Nothing "my fingers knew how to do" worked. I studied reviews on various manuals and this one consistently got the best reviews and for good reason because I can now say I'm getting to the point that I can use Windows 7 without any hysteria. The book is great and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is cursing their computer the way I was. :) Some poeple have a gift for explaining things at a basic level that is clear and understandable and David Pogue is one of those gifted people. Buy this book, you'll be glad you did!

  • Written for the novice as well as the more proficient computer operator.

I always like to get a manual about Windows newest operating system, especially one written by David Pogue. He takes the mystic out of the new features which I ordinarily would not have known, and written in a humourous fashion. I would agree that this book is written for the novice as well as the more proficient computer operator, so therefore I pass over the more basic things that I already know. Believe me when I say there are plenty of things to learn in Windows 7, so I'm very pleased with this purchase.

  • Windows 7 - Pogue

There just isn't any book, manual or guide close to this book. I'm sure there will be other authors and manuals for Win 7, but this is the one you'd want. I was thrilled that it was available and answered a lot of questions.
