Quality German cooking thermometer?
Nice chrome finish, and clear display. Some nice features and the ability to stand it anywhere in the oven or hang it on a shelf. Stand was a bit in the thin side and needed straightening after going through the post. But was so thin you don't need tools. I guess it needs to be thin so it can react to temperature changes more quickly. Tested in boiling water and it did read 100C and it dryed out easily in the oven without problem after the test. Only thing that let it down a bit was the sharp edges around the punched out stand. The quality felt more like a Chinese item than a German one to be honest. I'm still just happy overall though, but it was twice the price of others in the market place and didn't seam to justify the extra cost or the words high quality in the description. Sea change to our cooking. Easy to read through the glass door even when a little discoloured. Large numerals at the exact temp. Colour coded is an extra help, for a little less or give it some more. Alternative secure position changes to suit the dish of the day. Can be placed to be out of the way but still easily read. Has already paid for itself by zero wastage food and power with no frustration. Sea change to our cooking. Easy to read through the glass door even when a little discoloured. Great item
Really useful item , made in Germany and is superior quality stainless steel than other oven thermometers I have had that were made in China. Has showed that my oven takes an extra 10 minutes to reach selected temperature after buzzer has rung to say it has. This explains why things always needed cooking for longer ! The dial is in degrees Celcius and is very easy to read , accurate temperature reading , I am very happy with this item.Really useful item , made in Germany and is superior quality stainless steel than other oven thermometers I have had that were made in China. Easy to read
Easy to read through the oven door. More or less agrees with another oven thermometer of a different brand; so between the two of them I think we get a pretty good idea of what the real temperature is in that part of the oven!

Seems to be one of the better oven thermometers
After subjecting it a few times to 200 degrees centigrade in the oven, it seems to give an accurate temperature reading and it returns to zero once it cools down. I haven't yet used it for a lengthy period of time so I cannot comment on its long term quality.
