Saltwater Fly Fishing is a fishing simulation where you hit the sandy beaches at Vista-Grande to try to catch 14 different species of saltwater fish. In your tackle box, you have more than 100 lures and flies to use to snag the big ones.
Saltwater Fly Fishing features two casting styles: automatic and manual. In automatic mode, the computer casts the line with no participation from the user. In manual mode, the user presses the mouse forward and backward to simulate the "to and fro" of fly casting.
The flies and lures in Saltwater Fly Fishing's tackle box are grouped by the type of fish that they can most effectively catch. They include basic fly types and highly-detailed lures shaped like crabs, squid, and other sea creatures.
There are 14 fish species to catch in Saltwater Fly Fishing including the permit, the barracuda, the bonefish, the redfish, the shark, the snook, and the tarpon. Players who catch fish have their fish measured and weighed. Saltwater Fly Fishing stores records in a log that can be exported as a text database file.
Saltwater Fly Fishing allows players to set different options for the fishing experience. Players choose how frightened fish can get before swimming away, how fast they run when hooked, what they eat, among other things.
