This programme used to be on Bravo Tv at 9pm on Monday nights and is regularly repeated at other times now. The show follows Danny Dyer, an actor who has made a career from playing east end lads who don't mind a bit of violence, he presents the show and takes us around the UK to meet some of Britains deadliest men,. The men in question are generally ex-villains, soldiers or reformed hooligans, the first follows a liverpudlian ex gangster and drug baron known as 'The Devil', the second follows a soldier who has fought around the world for his country, other episodes include cage fighters, football hooligans, renowned prisoners and generally very tough people with a bit of attitude. On some levels the show could be and is interesting when we see why the hard men became how they are, but the show does sometimes glamourise the violence and Dyer in particular does seem both intimidated and enthralled by some of the characters. As social commentary the show is ok, but doesn't delve much below the surface, as a more glamorous lads eye view of hard men it delivers on more levels, personally I did watch the show and find elements interesting and other elements horrible, the show and Dyer do accept that violence is wrong but for some of these people is necessary.Vollständige Rezension lesen
i whatched this on tv but missed the odd episode. the dvd is brilliant, 2 discs with 6 episodes of britains hardest men. everything from ex undercover cops to ex drug dealers and "tax men" the hour long episodes show danny dyer been bossed around by these hard men and even dressed in full combat gear running round with a gun! one to watch!
Purchased for my husband; he loved it, a interesting watch. I think you would enjoy this DVD if you like gangster type topics or if you are a fan of Danny Dyer.
