LOVE This Book!! Modern American CLASSIC
I grew up in a southern town much like Savannah - not as elegant but with as many crazies and eccentrics per square foot. If your homeplace (southern or not) had it's share of "characters" and history, this book will entertain you tremendously too. "Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil" -THE Book - has it all! Great plot (based on a true story), fabulous, highly entertaining characters (based on true characters) and a marvelous travelogue on the sites and history of "America's most beautiful city". If you've been to Savannah you'll enjoy revisiting it in your mind's eye. If you haven't been to Savannah yet - you WILL after you read this. I bought this audio book simply because I saw the movie and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to relive it with the "words" rather than the visual distractions. It was a product in mint condition (never opened) and offered as buy it now or best offer. I got it for a reasonable price; much less than if I purchased it at a retail store. Audio books are a nice diversion when traveling and this item fit the bill. I can "read" the book and get to my destination. The best offer feature is a significant attraction to me on ebay. Long but Well Worth It
Jeff Woodman is a masterful story teller. No, he isn't the author, he is the voice actor. Woodman has a dynamic range of characters and emotions. His reading makes you feel like you are right there next to the author or the characters. Berendt should be commended for such a fitting match to read his book aloud. This is unabridged so it is quite lengthy. I listen to books while in the art studio in place of music. With this audiobook I found myself working extended hours in the studio that I normally wouldn't put in. It was to meeting some deadline; it was to hear what would happen next.Jeff Woodman is a masterful story teller. No, he isn't the author, he is the voice actor.
