Synopsis
In this book, the authors share their experiences of being diagnosed with breast cancer at young ages. It is also a work that encourages women everywhere to be proactive with their health--and realize that no one is "too young" for breast cancer., A diagnosis of breast cancer before the age of thirty had brought Patti, Jana, Jennifer, and Kim together for a monthly lunch at their local Nordstrom's caf, but it was a desire to provide hope to others that would make them friends for life. The fruit of their lunchtime labor, Nordie's at Noon shares the personal stories of each of these courageous women. A source of humor, strength, inspiration, and education, the book is a celebration of friendship and of living life to the fullest. "A rare book that has the saddest of endings and yet still manages to be life affirming,"* it encourages women everywhere to be proactive with their health-and to realize that no one is "too young" for breast cancer. (* People Magazine), Like any group of young women, Patti, Kim, Jennifer, and Jana talked about their latest career moves, the men in their lives, and their dreams for family when they met each month for lunch at the trendy cafe at their local Nordstrom's department store. But unlike other women their age, their conversations also turned to more serious issues, issues their "non-breast-cancer" friends couldn't have imagined or understood. Indeed, it was the diagnosis of breast cancer at the age of thirty of younger that had brought the women together in the first place. But it was a desire to tell their stories, provide hope to others, and to celebrate the journey of life after a cancer diagnosis that would make them friends for life. Nordie's at Noon shares the personal stories of each of these extraordinary and courageous women. A source of humor, strength, inspiration, and education, the book will speak to anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, supported someone with cancer, or faced a seemingly insurmountable challenge. A celebration of friendship and of living life to the fullest, Nordie's at Noon is also a book that will encourage women everywhere to be proactive with their health--and realize that no one is "too young" for breast cancer., A diagnosis of breast cancer before the age of thirty had brought Patti, Jana, Jennifer, and Kim together for a monthly lunch at their local Nordstrom's caf , but it was a desire to provide hope to others that would make them friends for life. But unlike other women their age, their conversations also turned to more serious issues, issues their "non-breast cancer" friends couldn't have imagined or understood.Their breast cancer diagnoses came at very different phases of their young lives. Patti was 24, single, and forging her way in the corporate world. Jana was planning her wedding at age 27, and bravely walked down the aisle wearing a wig and breast prosthesis. Jennifer, also 27, was five months pregnant when she was diagnosed, and endured surgery and chemotherapy during the pregnancy. Kim found her lump at age 30 while planning her son's second birthday party, and faced the issues of raising a toddler while she underwent treatment. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VENDOR! MTWYOUTH is a phenomenal book vendor. As well, they have a great mission. Have ordered MULTIPLE times. They have great sales, a really good selection, bks usually better than described. 1 bk of 15 not as advertised=refunded immediately. *Only caveat: to keep prices low they ship in white plastic mailing envelopes, w/o padding. if you're a "collector" that might not work for you."* ,1 bk of 15 damaged by USPS. MTWYOUTH still issued a refund; it wasn't their fault...*

First copy of this book entitled "Inferno" ordered from this Seller was never received by me. However after some back and forth messaging, via Ebay with Seller regarding this missing book Seller virtuously provided me a refund. Thereafter, I went back to this Seller's store ,where while browsing other history titles, fortuitously found Seller had another copy of the missing entitled book " Inferno" which I promptly ordered. Book was accurately described and well packaged. Very Satisfied.
