Synopsis
Featured in The New Yorker and Rolling Stone As Recommended in the Buzzfeed Holiday Gift Guide "There is something quite moving about seeing these fifty-five songs collected and assembled this way. Themes of family, friendship, love, destiny, loss, nature, and honest living bridge all of the albums and form the core set of concerns of this body of work. At the same time, you can see the evolution of the minds and hearts at work behind the lyrics." --Brandon Taylor, Since the release of their breakout debut album in 2008, Fleet Foxes and their front man, singer-songwriter Robin Pecknold, have enjoyed international critical and commercial acclaim. Their music has helped reshape the American indie-folk sound through songs that are acoustically and melodically driven, steeped in gospel-like harmonies, and propelled by Pecknold's resonant, earthy, and timeless lyrics. Wading in Waist-High Water: The Lyrics of Fleet Foxes contains Pecknold's complete lyrics from fifty-five songs, capturing the poetic and inventive storytelling that is a hallmark of the band's music. These richly layered lyrics explore the complexity, darkness, and beauty of physical and emotional landscapes, both pastoral and modern. Accompanying the lyrics, Pecknold includes notes on his creative processes, inspirations, and motivations. With an introduction by celebrated novelist Brandon Taylor, and an afterword by Pecknold, Wading in Waist-High Water is a moving and intimate look at the art of songwriting, the joy of music-making, and what it means to produce meaningful and memorable sound., Featuring over 50 song lyrics alongside never-before-seen insights from Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold, Wading in Waist-High Water is a deep dive into--and resounding celebration of--musical craftsmanship and care. Since the release of their breakout debut in 2008, Fleet Foxes and their frontman, singer-songwriter Robin Pecknold, have enjoyed international critical and commercial acclaim. Drawing comparisons to Simon & Garfunkel; Crosby, Stills & Nash; and the music of Brian Wilson, Grammy-nominated Fleet Foxes have reshaped the American indie-folk sound, crafting songs that are acoustically and melodically driven, steeped in gospel-like harmonies, and propelled by resonant and timeless lyrics. Wading in Waist-High Water: The Lyrics of Fleet Foxes contains Robin Pecknold's complete lyrics from 56 songs, capturing the poetic and inventive storytelling that is a hallmark of the band's music. Ok, so this is complicated... They totally messed up the FIRST shipment, and made it go to a town TWENTY-SIX miles from my address! But they were QUICK TO RESPOND; helped me get a REPLACEMENT book; AND got the replacement here in a good time-frame. I gave them a POSITIVE review ONLY because of how they handled FIXING THE ISSUE. The item came in BRAND NEW and was packaged well. But... they have a bad rep of sending the wrong item or messing up the address info. They need to be more careful.

Item is just as described, although it’s pictured larger than actual size; which is the size of a deck of flash cards. Also disappointed that the item was mailed to wrong address or customer mix up & no one responded to my email or apologized or explained why item was sent somewhere else. I don’t know if this is a reflection of seller or seller’s employees? I had a project to use it on & just moved forward. Thank you seller.

Nice book at a good price. Only issue I had with this Seller is the fact they use a "third party" shipping company called OSM Worldwide, that is very poor at their job. This third party caused a delay of 3 to 4 days at least in my receiving the book I purchased. I have contacted the Seller and made them aware of this issue. Should you decide to do business with this Seller just be aware that your book may take longer than usual to arrive.
