Set on the campus of the fictional Faber College in November 1962, "National Lampoon's Animal House" was an explosive smash comedy that became a big-time grossing box-office hit film, eventually developing into a massive movie phenomenon when it was first released back in 1978. Although it was originally produced on a semi-low budget, the movie succeeded beyond even Universal's wildest expectations. At the time of the film's original release, Donald Sutherland and John Belushi were the 2 best-known stars in the film. It also launced the careers of other up-coming performers like Karen Allen, Peter Riegert, Bruce McGill, James Widdoes, Stephen Furst, Thomas Hulce, Kevin Bacon and Tim Matheson. Prior to taking on this film, John Landis directed the off-the-wall comedy film "The Kentucky Fried Movie" from 1977. Landis would eventually hit a creative stride when he directed the first "Blues Brothers" movie. In "Animal House", the pledges of the Delta House fraternity are always at odds with members of the rival Omega House. Their explots include serving beer to their newest recruits, trying to make it with cute college girls and throwing a Roman toga party. In danger of losing their campus charter and on the brink of being expelled from college, the boys stage an all-out war during the town's parade, when unebelievable chaos ensues. The film also introduced a whole new generation to the classic rock anthem "Louie, Louie", performed by the Kingsmen, a band that originated in Portland, Oregon. The movie was filmed on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, and remains the all-time college comedy caper!Vollständige Rezension lesen
