Kodak easyshare, yea right!
I bought this camera the first day it hit the shelves at our local staples. Paid $400, the most I have ever spent on anything at that time. It worked for about 6 mths and was in our local repair shop 2x's and even sent to the company that repairs Kodak cameras 2 times. So, you guessed it I missed out on some good cameras. The last time it was fixed at the Kodak company I received someone elses camera. Should have kept it but I am not as dishonest as Kodak!!!! Anyway got it back a 4th time and the camera would turn on then right back off. We thought it was the battery so we got online, the only place I could find the battery for this camera, $25 later, camera still dont work. It has been sitting in the trunk of my car for over a year now. That is about the only place that I want it since ... I bought this camera the first day it hit the shelves at our local staples. A Great Start
I purchased this camera as a basic step into photography, last year. I wanted something easy to use that had a few extra features. The Kodak LS 443 is a 4 megapixel camera (pictures can be blown up to 11 X 14" without losing quality). The picture quality has been very good. Like many digital cameras, it doesn't do a great job at taking pictures at low lights unless you alter the settings (Landscape mode helps correct this in some situations). The great thing about the camera is that the differenct "scene modes" that adjust shutter and aperture for different situations are very easy to use. You can have the best camera in the world but if you always use auto instead of the individual settings, your pictures will be decent at best. As you switch into each mode, the name and description of ... I purchased this camera as a basic step into photography, last year. I wanted something easy to use that had a few extra features. As you switch into each mode, the name and description of that mode comes up on the screen. For example, if you switch into close up mode, it says "use for subjects closer than 28 inches." Another bonus for your picture quality is the Schneider-Kreuznach lens. This is one of the highest quality lenses you can get on a Kodak camera. The lithium ion battery has a great life. I usually get 300 pictures out of it. These batteries are cheap so keeping a few spares is cost effective and convenient. I've only needed to use the extra batteries a few times but I'm very glad I had them. On a dolphin watching trip, I went through 2 batteries, and half of the charge on a third after two hours of constant clicking, using the screen, and using the movie mode. The movie mode is helpful and has sound which is a nice little added bonus. The zoom is good for a camera of its size (3x optical). 4x seems to be the highest you see in a camera of this mid size. The recovery time between pictures is one of the only things I'm not crazy about on this camera. It takes a good amount of time to ready itself for the next picture. You can reduce this by buying a high speed memory card like San Disk's Ultra II SD cards. They write/read much faster than the normal cards. The other thing that isn't great is the screen quality. The screen tends to look grainy when the image quality is fine. This camera is a great starter camera. Great picture quality at 4x6 and 8x11 inch size prints. The camera is incredibly easy to use. The 3x zoom is very good and the camera has the high quality Schneider Kreuznach lens. Movie Mode with sound an added bonus.

This camera has been very good it takes great pictures and I love the extra lens that you can get for it (telephoto,wide angle,and 2 for close up pics.) Kodak has a good web site for Information on all of there products plus downloads for all of your updates for firmware and software upgrades. The easyshare software keeps getting better and better with every upgrade the latest 6.xx has been the best so far. Also the online kodakgallery for picture sharing is great and free. The only trouble with this camera that I have had is when I dropped off of a table and it fell on its back and broke the joystick button on the back. Kodak wanted $150.00 to repair it or replace it with a new model but I found a replacement button on Ebay and replaced it myself for $10.00 and it works like a new one. I ... I found lots of parts on ebay for this model. This camera uses a lithium Ion battery which lasts a long time for picture taking and video but make sure you always take the dock with you to recharge because the power cord that comes with the dock will power the camera but it will not recharge the battery and this camera only takes the special lithium ion and no other types of batteries. The only other way to charge the battery without the dock is to buy the special travel kit from kodak 29.99 that charges the Lithium Ion batteries which was hard to find in stores. All in all this is a great camera with just the right amount of features for general picture taking and now that it is several years old you can find it for very cheap second hand as well as cheap parts abound if you ever drop it to keep it running for many years to come.

This camera was purchased as a 21st birthday. I needed an inexpensive gift because we were also paying airfare for his visit home. I chose this camera because it was a complete kit: extra battery, 1 mb chip, docking station etc. My son was very pleased with it and found 4 mp plenty for the type of photos that he wants to take. The camera has lots of features that he can explore when he wants more than point and shoot. The software and manuals also came with it. Easyshare is the EASIEST!!!
My mother bought me a digital camera like 6 years ago. It was too hard to work so I didnt' use it. Then my husband brought home a Kodak Easyshare..... thank heavens!! It really is super easy to use. It was the perfect size too. Then I broke it and took it in to get replaced. They didn't have these smaller ones anylonger. Instead there were very large photographer type Easyshares. I was very disappointed but since it was under an extended warranty, I had to take what the electronic store was willing to give me.
