This is one really quality field sharpener. I don't like to use carbide on nice Knives. But I have to say I have. This product is so quick, easy and tough. I have some old buck knives I have rubbed on stones for hours, they are made with such hard metal I hate them. But with this Lansky in less than 2 minutes I can have the old Buck Knife cutting paper. I used it on my wives kitchen set that had some serious wear, most serrated. I did 2 of them and put them back, she came in and said what did you do to my knives, these 2 are so sharp. LOL I didn't even touch the up with my stones. The Serrated diamond sharpening tool is tapered and has worked well. It takes allot off easy, as does the carbide 5 light strokes n your done or just wearing out a knife. I do see the diamonds showing wear and I have not used it much, so time will tell. If they last long ill buy 2 more for that price. If it was 50 bucks I would have one. I wouldn't use it for everything, but it will sharpen anything that will fit in it, including my hatchet. I would have a hard time dragging my 350 knives through it, but I don't abuse them enough to need more than ceramic/ stone.Vollständige Rezension lesen

This is actually my second blade medic after I misplaced my first one (which I have yet to relocate). So far, in my experience, this product can sharpen any knife I have in the house. Whether it's a pocket or kitchen knife, or even scissors and other items with edges. I got my first blade medic from another site due to a sale that I couldn't refuse. If you are looking for a handy tool to bring to camp or any outdoor activity, this product will definitely serve you well. I haven't gone camping yet but I would assume that this product will be quite a handy tool to have, among others.

It may not quite be up to the standards of using assorted long stones for dressing and honing an edge but it is the handiest little field sharpener . Excellent in quality and takes up almost no space in a field pack . It puts an excellent work edge on the straight and curved part while it also is capable of sharpening the serrated edge . I most likely will purchase more as gifts .

I bought a Lansky Blade Medic to sharpen a Knife that I needed to be sharp for my everyday work. I used to use a Ceramic sharpener alone but it would not sharpen the blade if it was too dull. The Blade Medic with the Carbide does a better job of sharpening a very dull blade.. The Ceramic is used finely hone the blade once it is sharpened. The body of the Lansky Blade Medic body is made of metal and not cheap plastic and is more durable. Due to its small size, the Lansky Blade Medic is easy to carry and store and does what it is intended to do. I highly recommend the Blade Medic to anyone who is in need of a good small compact sharpener that can be carried anywhere and withstand the rigors of a rough environment. .

There is 4 different areas for sharpening. The diamond coated tapered spike and one of the ceramic strips worked to sharpen my serrated Swiss Army Knife blade. There is 2 V shaped sharpeners. The Tungsten V worked on my large machete blade and some kitchen knives and were you don/t need a precision edge. Those items don't have Baldes as hard as say a Buck Knife. I likely won't use the ceramic V as It is kind of too smooth. I think this sharpener is mostly made for touch up out in the field for knives that have normal blades. With serrated edge Knives it seems like something necessary to have. /R the case of my particular knive.
