Susan Gal and Gail Kligman explore these differences through a probing analysis of the role of gender in reshaping politics and social relations since 1989.The authors raise two crucial questions: How are gender relations and ideas about gender shaping political and economic change in the region? And what forms of gender inequality are emerging as a result? The book provides a rich understanding of gender relations and their significance in social and institutional transformations. Gal and Kligman offer a systematic comparison of East Central European gender relations with those of western welfare states, and with the presocialist, bourgeois past. Throughout this essay, the authors attend to historical comparisons as well as cross regional interactions and contrasts. Their work contributes importantly to the study of postsocialism, and to the broader feminist literature that critically examines how states and political-economic processes are gendered, and how states and markets regulate gender relations.

    Has many good ways to cook your shrimp!

    These recipes will be fun to try while I am down in Mazatlan! I will buy from the "Shrimp Ladies" and go back to my flat and cook them up! I can't wait to try all of these!

    Bubba Gump Cook Book

    Hi, Don't buy this cook book if you are looking for the Bubba Gump garlic shrimp recipe. There is one for kabobs, but not for the luscious appetizer they serve. We have a Bubba Gump’s here in Colorado at Breckenridge. That is at least 3.5 hours from where I live. Anyway I had this delicious dish in Charleston S.C. three years ago and the taste still lingers on my tongue. The wife and the (2) girls loved it as well. Some of the recipes aren’t bad at all. As a matter of fact, pretty good. Freddie

    Like is like a box...........

    Like is like a box of Chocolates.....you never know what your gonna get. This book is great. I recommend anyone that loves shrimp and loved the Forrest Gump movie to get this book. When I opened the book and read it, it took me right back into the movie, and was quite a delight. Knowing that this truthly simple book was very easy to read, you could still hear Forrest talking as you read each word. It was truthly and utterly a delight. The recipes are wonderful, favorful, and simple. This nice book brings a smile to my face, and it could yours as well.
