This beautifully detailed, miniature figure of Saber Alter captures the "Fate/hollow ataraxia" anime heroine in a playful pose. The victor of the fourth Holy Grail War is sitting cross-legged and nibbling on an ice-blue popsicle. She is depicted wearing a ruffled and black one-piece bathing suit, and her honey-colored hair is tied with a matching black bow. Her amber eyes are downcast, and her face has what one might describe as a flirtatious expression on it. As you can see, a lot has changed for Saber since "fate/stay night," the first installment in the anime, took place. Saber has become a lot more girly and has developed a serious interest in candy and sweets. The figurine measures a tad more than 3 inches high, and it weighs just over 7 ounces. It’s crafted from sturdy, durable polyvinyl chloride to a 1:10 scale. The figurine was manufactured in Japan. A stand is included to display your Saber figurine with your other "fate/stay night" collectibles. The Holy Grail Wars are periodic competitions that take place in the "fate/stay night" universe. Sabers are one of the seven servant classes whose help is necessary in order to win one of these conflicts. Fans of this anime world particularly appreciate this figurine because it shows just how much Saber’s character has evolved. In "fate/stay night," this fictional character is first introduced as a skilled warrior. She’s fierce and independent, and she lets nothing stand in the way of winning the fifth Holy Grail War for Shiro. Shiro, her master, appears to care very little about winning the great prize, though, and this frustrates her a great deal. In the second installment of the series, she has mellowed. Living with girlfriends Rider and Rin has made the victor of the Fourth Holy Grail War self-conscious. She remains utterly devoted to Shiro, and there are a few hints that her affections are returned. In "fate/hollow ataraxia," the shy side of her personality comes out, but she’s still a skilled fighter. She also has an alter ego that first came out when she was blackened by Shadow mud. This alter ego likes to talk rudely and eat greasy, unhealthy fast food. The Holy Grail Wars narrative first appeared in an adult video game released in Japan in 2004 for gamers with PCs using Windows. The Japanese game developer and publisher Type-Moon produced the game. The storyline proved to be so popular that it was adapted as a manga two years later and serialized in Shonen Ace magazine. An English-language version of the manga followed in 2007. In Japan, animated films and television series based on the manga have been released. Even if you’re not a fan of the series, this painted "Fate/hollow ataraxia" Saber Alter figure is still enchanting. It’s an adorable piece of art that is fun to show off to people for years to come.
