Nice selection of different monsters, especially nice to have expanded fey options. A little cheese and fluff, but overall on task and to the point. Far better than MM4 and MM5, about the same value as MM2 and Feind Folio (FF). One caveat - this text is not updated for 3.5 to the best of my ability to ascertain. There is a webfix at Wizards.com to update it, but it can still be a hassle at times - save DCs are ridiculously high. Final note - Before picking this up, if you specifically know what kind of monster you want to throw at your PCs, check the other splat books for good monsters. For example: Undead - Libris Mortis Aberrations - Lords of Madness Dragons - Draconimicon Anyway, overall a real winner, with only a few problems. 4/5 stars Signed, A 19 Year Vetern DM
A good, though non-essential, addition to your D&D library. The MM3 contains a plethora of new, rare and different monsters with which you can attack your players. The good thing is that since this book is less common your players may not know much, if anything, about these monsters and specific strengths and weaknesses. Although, as aforementioned, only the first MM is essential as all of the classic beasts are within those pages. The MM2, MM3 & Fiend Folio are nice to have if for no other reason than to increase your options, but will be used much less frequently.
Great couple of books to flesh out any 3 or 3.5 campaign!

Is a good asset to the D&D books collection with new monsters and better challenge. Use wisely because characters ill die most often using the monster in this book. Give 4/5 because the book focus in bad monsters and don't have a selection of good monsters, in case your game is with an evil party.
