Life changing and it cost me so little!
This book tells a lot of truths in a humorous way, but at times I cried at the way animals are treated just so that I can eat meat, eggs and milk. My husband and I both became Vegans immediately and have never felt better. Within two weeks we both lost that extra stone we all seem to carry about and my beautician cannot believe just how good my skin looks. I'd say read this book, but read it if you actually want to make a difference to the way you eat, feel and want to view our world. Also make sure you are married to an amazing man who has taken to veganism with so much enthusiasm and cooks such fabulous meals.This book tells a lot of truths in a humorous way, but at times I cried at the way animals are treated just so that I can eat meat, eggs and milk. Disappointed
I expected a cook book with skinny recipes, and got a book to read and what I have to do to be healthy,I already live healthy and don't need any advise on that, So I am very disappointed in this book,and I think it should be more clearly described what is in the book for me this whas a waste off money.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read; it provides a blunt and straightforward perspective on health and nutrition, and directs the reader into making smart choices about their diet, in a tough-love and informal manner. Ultimately, the book emphasizes the health benefits of a vegan diet, whilst also promoting the benefits of organic and fresh fruit and vegetables (as opposed to processed and chemical-ridden products which we eat on a day to day basis). In addition to covering weight loss, Skinny Bitch provides realistic and graphic facts behind meat, dairy and genetically modified foods, exercise advice, lifestyle attitudes to consider, as well as a very helpful food plan. Negative points to consider, include the fact that the book is very much aimed at those who can afford to eat fresh and ... I thoroughly enjoyed this read; it provides a blunt and straightforward perspective on health and nutrition, and directs the reader into making smart choices about their diet, in a tough-love and informal manner. I am a vegan myself, and therefore have already taken on board a lot of the dietary changes they advise in the book, but even I would struggle at up keeping their recommended food plan as sometimes it is simply too difficult or expensive to completely avoid processed foods. It is also wise to understand that this book does not hold any "secret keys" to weight loss - their advise is solid and will work, but it comes with a price. A lot of readers will be disappointed to find out that the Skinny Bitch diet shuns daily luxuries like alcohol, caffeine, and soft drinks (and in turn does not show any sympathy for those who refuse to live without such items!). Another low point I found, was that because the book was written in the USA, anyone who does not live there can lose out slightly as the recommended list of vegan alternatives provided at the back of the book may not be available in any other country other than the US. However, on a positive note, Skinny Bitch was thoroughly entertaining to read, and very much encouraged me to consider the food I eat in a whole new light. The chapters cover everything, from bodily waste, to liquid retention, to yummy alternatives to snacks. If you have good will power, and the determination, the Skinny Bitch diet guarantees that you will become a healthy (and skinnier) person!
