Great seller! Item is what I ordered; good communication; shipped promptly; good value. NOTE TO SELLER: packaging was NOT appropriate for item; it was a flimsy, plastic envelope, with no stiff material to prevent creases. The book came with two deep creases that involved the *entire* item: one is a 1" triangle lower left side (bound edge); the other is a 7" triangle on upper right side (open edge).

Michel Gondry Missteps
It is disappointing to me when a film doesn't live up to its potential. Michel Gondry had proven himself to be an accomplished director, delivering first "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and its followup, "The Science of Sleep." But Gondry finally loses his grove with "Be Kind Rewind," a film with a promising premise that fails to deliver. After hapless transient Jerry (Jack Black) erases all the tapes at Be Kind Rewind video store, acting store manager Mike (Mos Def) hatches a plan to "refilm" the store's catalog, eventually involving the whole town in the film-making process. The script, also by Gondry, delivers only occasional laughs, and the story's resolution is anything but. Gondry hovers around deep issues and even ... It is disappointing to me when a film doesn't live up to its potential. As usual, Mos Def delivers a subdued and ultimately rewarding performance; he has successfully transitioned from a hip-hop star to a consummate actor. However, even his turn as manager Mike is not enough to save the undeveloped aspects of the plot, including a romance with another townie. Conversely, Jack Black plays the same persona that he is consistently known for. Quite frankly, his shtick is getting old. Fans of Gondry's work might be better off basking in his previous successes than plodding through this disappointing wreckage.

Could it be? Jack Black lets me down?
I was pretty excited when I originally saw the previews for this one. I'm a huge Jack Black fan and as far as rapper/actors go, well Mos Def is no Tupac Shakur, but I like him. Throw in Danny Glover, Mia Farrow...how could you go wrong with this kind of star power? Well for starters, Be Kind Rewind just isn't all that funny. I don't know if my expectations of a Jack Black film are too high or what. He's got some moments that will get a laugh out of you, but Saving Silverman it is not. Jack just simply wasn't the show stealer that he should have been in this one. The ending of the movie was a huge disappointment. Without spoiling it for those who still decide to watch the film, I'll say this; The entire movie is based on this basic plot. Unfortunately, ... I'm not sure why the writers wanted the audience to think about such a simple concept after watching this film, but apparently they did. Unfortunately, I think it's more likely that viewers will just say "Forget it...who cares?!?" My recommendation would be this...If you REALLY wanted to see this and have a Netflix account, or a friend you can borrow it from, I'd go ahead. It's not so bad that you won't be able to sit through it. I wouldn't bother investing any kind of money into it though...the time you waste is more than enough.

my experience with using the Be Kind Rewind (DVD, 2008) was a mildly entertaining evening. The movie starred a white guy (jack black) and a black guy (mos def) and Sgt. Mertah as the grandpa. They own like a store and ruin movies but dont worry they remake them alllll. The dvd was clean and new and shiny. It worked well with my toshiba dvd player. Good thing I found the remote I didnt have to get up at all. So in conclusion my experience with using the Be Kind Rewind (DVD,2008) was 6 outta 10.my experience with using the Be Kind Rewind (DVD, 2008) was a mildly entertaining evening. be kind rewind
these guys own a small vcr movie rental store and accidently erase the movies so they record new ones by filming themselves and making costumes acting out the movies . The movies go over good and they have tons of customers . If you like Jack black movies you will love this .

Be Kind Rewind
In my opinion the characters are all casted perfectly and the addition of Jack Black it just all fit magnificently. The parody "Sweeded" movies were the whole lol fest of the whole film and "Fats" the big handed Piano player the movie revolved mainly about him and the building he grew up in and they try to save the building from being turned into a condo and be renovated instead. There is a nice balance of comedy and serious moments this movie is a great movie you can buy it now or possibly wait for a Special Edition if it does come out but no matter what this movie is a must have.In my opinion the characters are all casted perfectly and the addition of Jack Black it just all fit magnificently.
