6 days handling time is crazy for something you show to have in stock. Order on the 25th, end of the day today is the 30th and I finally received a tracking number. It's just a label created, packaged hasn't even been shipped yet. This is the second time I have had an issue with the handling time from Bell's Bike Shop on eBay. First time was only a couple months ago and same issue with a seat-pos. I didn't realize it was the same seller and eBay wouldn't let me cancel because it's too many days

Too wide a grip
The first cut was nice and then cut number 2 and every cut from then on seemed to mush the cable now matter how careful I was. The grip is really wide not what you would want unless your hand is as big as the biggest Man out there. My hands are not tiny but it seemed like the only way to use this was to rest the cable in the slot and then hold it there with the other hand until you got your cutting hand in place over the handles, again WIDE reach and then re position the cable where you want to cut and then cut. The older Park Tool one isn't like that. The park tool one is easier to handle by far. Also no directions on how to unlock it and I almost did not notice the little lock lever up near the cutters. I was starting to assume that it was held closed by the little black plastic piece in ... That's the only plus is the little locking lever vs the other brands have the hook at the end witch takes seconds more off your work time to keep opening and closing theirs witch is at the ends of the handles on the other brands. I still think there could have been a simple diagram on the package to show the lock lever as I almost ruined the spring covering thinking that was what was holding it from opening. So if you still choose to go with this one just make sure you have huge hands and look for the lock lever near the cutters as it may not be readily noticeable. 22 years experience.

Pedro's Cable Cutter Bicycle Cable & Housing Cutter Review
Cables are cut very cleanly with no fraying. Shift housing cuts are also very clean with no need to re-round. I have not used the cutter on brake housing yet but it should work just fine. This is well made with excellent materials & should last for years of service. I bought it after watching a comparison video on YouTube.

Not sure I would get it again.
So far it is very good at what it should be good at which is cutting cable. It does that well and cables are cut cleanly. However, it is a bit unwieldy in that, to get the cutting jaws opened wide enough (especially when cutting housing), the grip has to be extended pretty far out, if that makes any sense. I have big hands and even so the cutters aren't what I would call easy to handle and use. Also the springy open assist mechanism isn't all that great. Lastly I was disappointed to realize that, unless I am missing something, it does not have crimping capability. I would have thought (and indeed did assume) that would be a given for a bicycle cable cutter. But that was simply my mistake. So, they are fine and cut cable well but if I had it to do over again I would probably spend a bit ... So far it is very good at what it should be good at which is cutting cable. Right tool for the job
I needed to cut a brake cable so that I could feed it back through an existing cable housing on the bike. My previous experience cutting a cable with a standard wire cutter resulted in the end becoming frayed; this would not work for my latest application. For this reason, I purchased the Pedro's Cable Cutter. This tool cut a nice clean cut which allowed me thread it through my twisting cable housing, a big time saver as I did not have to remove any bar tape and housing. I believe very much in the adage, the right tool for the job. This tool has given me the confidence to take on future cable replacements instead of having the shop do it, which will more than offset the cost of the tool. From the fist cut I knew I had purchased the right tool. Clean, easy cuts every time. I could have spent less - and suffered through jagged cabled ends and mangled housings. But I learned years ago not to buy cheap tools. Spend the money for a good tool once rather than spending more on a series of cheap and ineffective tools. I am quite confident this is the last cable cutter I will ever need to buy. From the fist cut I knew I had purchased the right tool. Clean, easy cuts every time.
