I really don't do reviews but this mic is very worthy. well built and sounds like the best of them. Have been playing and running sound live for over 40 years and can't say enough about the quality of this mic. ITS THAT GOOD!!!

I think this mid-line bass drum mike is working out well. I use a 20" Pearl kick and was miking it with a D112. I also used the inline Kickpad for some extra EQ. This combination was just not getting enough thump and clarity and volume. Also, the way the D112 mic is built, it's not easy to just set into the bass drum port...you have to twist it on a stand or just lay it inside the drum. The QKick allows me to set it just inside the port facing the batter head (slightly off centre), beef it up with the KickPad, and then either use a trigger or Yamaha SubKick for the wideth.... Sometimes, cheaper is better.
For the multiple PA systems I have I am so surprised with this full line of Samson QKick, QTom to QSnare mics. I got a QKick, used, for very few dollars and was stunned at its response -- on both kick drums and bass guitar amps. It matched up with my Audix D6, with just a tiny bit of difference in the response on both. If you're looking for a mic that's a true hidden gem at a low, low price this is it. To heck with what the audiophiles say, you can buy two sets of mics for what they claim is a better kick mic. BTW, I used a Samson QSnare as a guitar cab mic....better then a 57. Who knew.

Great value for the money!. Excellent stand comes with mine..(BIG fully-adjustable "chicken-foot" type!)... It isn't an AKG D-112 BUT it's got a different sound, preferable to me over some of the other so-called sub 125.00 kick mics.. Excellent value!
for a cheap kick, what more can you ask for? nice low end, gets every bit of punch you throw at it and reproduces it beautifully.
