This item was delivered and packaged nicely although the description says very good it looked liked the condition of this item was new when looked at. Volume I is Number 1 for all Barbie Collectors!
In my own opinion, and probably most Barbie & Barbie "family & friends" Collectors, Mrs. Eames has certainly written one of the best sources of information on their Vintage clothing & accessories ever found. Beautiful color photographs are found on every page, of complete fashions of all things Barbie, Ken, Skipper and their family & friends for the 1959-1967 "era". Along with the stunning photos are detailed descriptions, including item number and year of issue. The collector finally has a reference book with all they need to know, nothing is omitted from this wonderful book. If you are looking for THE book, the one that has all the information you ever needed to know...THIS is THE book for you! In the index section, along with the item name and what page the item is located in the book, ... In the index section, along with the item name and what page the item is located in the book, is a "current" value as well. I do not have Volume II yet, but lucky to also own Volume III, and if I could find any improvement in her Volume III compared to the format of Volume I it would have to be the way the INDEX is arranged. It is listed by year and item number under categories and doll names, with the prices omitted in this section but included with the actual pictures & descriptions of the items. I find it is easier to locate the clothing compared to this first volume. I highly recommend Volume I for any and all collectors, no disappointment will be had. Include Volumes II & III to your Barbie reference library and you will be very informed on these wonderful dolls!

Sarah Sink Eames has written THE reference book for Barbie lovers!!
I purchased this book as a reference for myself, as a collector and as a seller. I recognize she is an authority on Barbie and her fashions. I find that I use this book quite frequently, so I'm happy it's hardcover. I use it to identify doll and outfit names, year of introduction, and what was included in the complete set. I also use it to see variations that I had not seen before. I just wish there was an alphabetical index. It would help me with the names that I DO know, instead of flipping pages, because I don't know what year it was introduced. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. It makes my life a lot easier in cyber world and the real world. I'm fortunate enough to have a personal autographed copy!!!I purchased this book as a reference for myself, as a collector and as a seller. I recognize she is an authority on Barbie and her fashions. Unfortunately, these guides are often unrealistic for a large portion of the collector market. Barbie Reference Book
Any collector seasoned or new needs this book. I have been collecting forever and still refer to this book all the time. This is actually my second copy. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Barbie Doll

Barbie’s fashions
This book contains detailed information about Barbie & clan’s fashions for the first decade of existence. It does not offer much information about the doll itself, however. This was the first book I got on the subject, I wanted to know more. But if you want to know about her fashions, this is the book. It contains color photographs of each fashion set & describes them in detail.
