Product Information

A port of the 1995 Sega CD title, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete brings the magical tale of Hiro, Lucia, and their friends to the PlayStation with updated visuals and minor gameplay tweaks. A thousand years have passed since Dragonmaster Alex destroyed Ghaleon and rescued Luna. Unbeknownst to the inhabitants of the world, an evil presence is rising, with the sole purpose of reviving the evil Zophar and bringing about the end of the world in the process.

Through a series of chance encounters, Hiro ends up meeting new friends and enemies. As fate guides him and his winged, cat-like companion Ruby towards their ultimate destiny, they'll find strength and courage to save their world, even if it means giving up what they love the most.

As the game progresses, full-screen animation sequences further the storyline and reveal more about Hiro's companions: Ronfar, Jean and Lemina. With the exception of battles, the game is viewed from a top-down perspective. Unlike the random battles found in games like Final Fantasy, enemies in Lunar 2 are visible and can be avoided altogether if so desired. Battles are turn-based, allowing the party to engage the enemy with a variety of melee and spell attacks.

Characters can be positioned at the front or back of the group, affecting both their attack and defensive capabilities. An option is also available to let the computer fight battles for you. Magic attacks are based upon the five elements: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water and Thunder, each having its own advantages and drawbacks. Though some characters are more adept magic users than others, each character will gain more advanced magic attacks as their levels increase.

Working Designs has packaged the game with a host of extra collectibles. Featured in the set is a music CD of the game's soundtrack, a "Making of Lunar 2" CD, cardboard character standees, a full-size Lucia pendant, an overworld map, and a leatherette hardbound instruction manual.

  • An enjoyable old school romp through RPG land!

For those that played this on the Sega CD, you will be pleased to know the remake is just as good as the original. Some things were tweaked, but all of the things you love are still here: the cliche story, the awesome characters, the wonderful voice acting, and the same, turn based battle system of the original. Now defunct Working Designs made a great game here with plenty to see and do and well worth the effort to talk to everyone and take your time with the game. The voice acting is excellent, but the new option to turn the battle voices off may be the winner for some players, as they can get redundant, especially when battling the final boss! This game has just enough of a challenge for your average gamer while keeping the ones who are looking for a challenge intrigued with the bonus ...

  • A worthy sequel to one of historys best RPG's.

An absolutely stunning game. The original Lunar has been considered a classic since it was released on the Sega CD and the crown jewel of legendary publisher Working Designs. Against all odds they've managed to make a worthy sequel in Eternal Blue. Like the original Lunar it is full of colorful, memorable, and lovable characters with the world of Lunar acting as its own. As great as the original was Lunar 2 has several improvements working for it that in some ways actually make it the superior game. For one, it is a longer game and has more cut scenes. The battle system is more refined making encounters less tedious and each character has a greater variety or magic/skills that fit into the game well. even status based attacks are worth using, unlike every single other rpg in the world. ...

  • A wonderful game for any fan of anime, RPGs or just plain good storytellin'

Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete is a wonderful RPG that was groundbreaking in it's day, with over an hour's worth of hand-drawn animation, spoken dialogue and an intricate-yet-user-friendly combat system. L2:EBC takes everything good from its predecessor, Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, and improves upon it. While Lunar 1 was a fun but simple romp around the globe to find pieces of the legendary Dragon Armor, Lunar 2 is centered around its characters. The story of this second game leaves a greater impression on the player than the first and has the player feeling for the characters. If you can find a copy of this game and Lunar 1 with all the extra stuff they originally came with, go for it. These games came standard with 'making of' DVDs, soundtracks, and more goodies at a time when ...

  • Lunar 2: Eternal Blue

Here's a game that takes all the great things it's predecessor had and further improves them! Fans of the series will feel right at home with the traditional rpg gameplay. This game features exciting turn-based battles, nice anime cut-scenes, and an epic story rivaling the greatsest rpgs. The relationships between the characters (Hiro and Lucia) are in depth and really capture the human emotions. A tale of love and friendship, loyalty and betrayal, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue is a must have for any rpg fan!

  • good series

I have collected the Lunar series for a while now and to be honest if you want an old school type of game this is the one for you. They masterfully combine Anime with game play and you really get the feeling like you know the characters with in. Lunar Silver Star Story got the game rolling and it didn't disappoint in any way and luckily Lunar Eternal Blue kept the same style and while the story was different kept you hooked to the good graphics and great story arch that lunar is famous for. If you buy this game be preparied for a great collectors item and a great game.
