Mystical City of God
“The Mystical City of God” was written by a saintly nun who initially refused to write about it. She delayed writing it for 10years, and when she did she burnt the first finished book and then finally rewrote it after another 18 years. But how could she not obey? The Almighty has decreed that the time has come for the glorious life of the Mother of God to be revealed to all people, as has not been done through the gospels, at the request of the great Lady herself to the Evangelists, who in her humility wished to remain always in the background so that all the glory would be Christ's. Venerable Mary of Agreda therefore was chosen as the reluctant vessel to do this. She was reluctant for one reason alone: she felt unworthy of the task of putting down to paper the glorious mysteries ... “The Mystical City of God” was written by a saintly nun who initially refused to write about it. It also brings us to a closer understanding of who we are and why we are here. For most of us who have been seeking empty places to find answers to the eternal question of purpose to life, this book not only provides answers but sets down how we are to go about it. The Mystical City of God is Mary. She, in whom the Lord dwells. She is the true and living Ark of the Covenant because she bore the Living God. She is the true altar we must approach since she bears in her arms the God we must worship, and in her turn has offered Him for our salvation. “The Mystical City of God” by Mary of Agreda glorifies God because it praises him for His most perfect creation. When we venerate Mary full of grace, we worship Her Creator, who showered her with exaltations so that none below God is above her. It is a compelling read and a must for those who wish to cultivate a deeper relationship with God.

The "alternate" Bible
My Mother gave me this book years ago- I couldn't put it down. I have a particular devotion to the Blessed Virgin, so it was wonderful to read this book about Her life & so many other things She is blessed to have the knowledge of. I call this book "my Bible" since it fills in all the blanks that aren't in the Bible. Whenever I have a question, I refer to this book. I bought this copy for my best friend & her husband & recently won the full 4 book version of this on ebay. I highly recommend it.My Mother gave me this book years ago- I couldn't put it down. This Book has enriched my Catholic Faith and changed my life forever.
This Book 'The Mystical City of God' is more than just any book. I have read it twice and like some of the reviews say it is "arguably the most important book ever written besides the Bible" as it fills in all the blanks and areas of the Bible from before Creation(Genesis)through Revelation. After reading The Mystical City of God and referring to the Bible I have come to the conclusion that there is not any words in the Bible that are there by mistake. This book reveals, completes, and makes clear any questions we may have had as it has enriched my faith to a high degree and opened my eyes to many things.This Book 'The Mystical City of God' is more than just any book. If you are Catholic, it's a must read. Christians and Muslims should also read it. Life is very short and eternity is forever. You don't come around twice. Atheists and Agnostics Educate yourselves
