Excellent bit of kit!
I've been missing my Xda Orbit since I sold that, and even with my recent upgrade to a Blackberry, I felt there was something missing. I decided I would look at the Xda IIi, and even though it's now over 6 years since it was originally released, it's still able to "play with the big boys". It lacks 3G (as did my Curve 8520 though) and it doesn't have built in GPS, but it was very easy to set up with my bluetooth GPS receiver. The touchscreen is a precise and flawless as my old Xda was, it was a piece of cake to unlock the phone to all networks, it did all the inital setup itself, and connects instantly and easily to my Windows 7 PC with the docking station. The setting up for GPRS and MMS could have been simpler, but I think that's more my provider not offering the best support rather ... WiFi doesn't seem to work with encryption without updating the phone, but most public ones don't have encrytion so that's not so big a deal. The choice of ring tones is limited by needing to mess around to add more, compared to the Blackberry (and most others!) which can easily have MP3's added as the ring tone from any directory, and it's sometimes not as intuitive as a phone with fewer option, but overall it's easy enough to use for anyone likely to buy one. The main downside is the size - newer PDA's and Androids are smaller for the same power, so it's definitely more of an office PDA than a pocket-sized mobile. The only other downside is the storage capacity, as you're limited to 2Gb SD cards as it won't support 4Gb ones. Not the end of the world, but when comparing to the 16Gb iPhone and such, it shows it's age. Beyond that, it's at least as sleek and stylish as anything else out there, easy to set up and use, and the touchscreen is so superior to many brand new smart phones, that you'll forget it's older than a half decent wine.

Released 2003/2004 it had one of the fastest processors for a PDA at 520MHz. The operating system still works well today with many programs available for Windows CE (XDA IIi uses Windows 2003 2nd Edition). If you look on the net you will find a lot of information regarding this devise and programs that can be used. This was one of the first to include wifi although I experienced problems using WPA however there were no problems with WEP. Handy when you are near any 'hotspots'. I use this devise more today than I did when I first got it. And did I mention you can use it as a phone as well! The devise has many functions although the camera function at 1.3mp is dated. Pros and cons
This is an old product by today's technology standards but, literally has every thing you could need from a pda/smart phone. Advantages are: Simplicity of operation to any one familiar with Windows XP, Outlook and Word. Feels nice and solid and is very reliable. Disadvantages. Camera is noe where near as good as that shipped as standard on a modern phone. Wi-fi can be 'picky' about connections. Overall, though this is a fast sophisticated bit of kit, much loved by pda users and can be picked up BNIB for as little as £50.00 on ebay. bought xda mini 2 i and sold it a day later and bought a blackberry 8520
didnt do what i thought i could do with it so got rid and bought a blackberry curve which i have now come a custom to and it dose what i want and more top phone
