Product Information

Take part in three different campaigns set during World War II in this European version of the Microsoft Xbox game, Call of Duty: Finest Hour. This extremely popular first-person shooter video game offers campaigns based on the Eastern Front, North Africa, and Western Front of World War II. This Xbox game allows up to 32 local players through the System Link feature, and 16 online players at once. Known for attention to detail and historical accuracy, Activision starts players off as a Soviet private involved in an assault on German forces during The Battle of Stalingrad. You travel through trenches, into an armory, and in and out of other buildings as you fight German soldiers and take guns and ammunition from them. You then play another Soviet soldier, a female sniper named Tanya Pavlovna. After the story on the Eastern front, you continue the game in North Africa as a PPA Commando named Edward Carlyle on a nighttime raid to destroy a German fuel depot. Making the escape after destroying the depot is harder than you think, and includes the rescue of a soldier stuck on the roof of a German stronghold. Finish up the game with Sergeant Chuck Walker as he works to capture several key German cities ahead of an Allied invasion. The first mission focuses on the capture of Aachen, and then the story shifts to M4 Sherman tank commander Sgt. Sam Rivers, who fends off Germans around the town of Tillet. You then take control of the newly promoted Lieutenant Chuck Walker and infiltrate the city of Remagen. The games are played normally, or players are able to be adventurous and use cheats. Cheats can get you infinite lives and other advantages. Generally, of course, it’s better to play the game as normally as possible. However, some players do enjoy using cheats. Call of Duty: Finest Hour is the first console installment of Call of Duty, released for the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2 (PS2), and Microsoft Xbox. The game was developed by Spark Unlimited. Call of Duty has become one of the most well-known console game franchises, with incredible popularity among players of all ages. It became so popular that subsequent Call of Duty games were released for additional console systems, including PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS, PSP, Game Boy systems, and Sega Dreamcast. While the game is based on the original Call of Duty series for Microsoft Windows, the Xbox, and other console versions are quite different. Call of Duty: Finest Hour for the Xbox has a different storyline than the PC version and features six intertwined stories and battles based on real events. The game takes into account perspectives from soldiers on each side of the Allied campaign – the Soviets, the Americans, and the British.

  • It's war

I bought this game because WWII games are my favorite to play. I thought the idea of being able to play three different sides of battle from three different countries was great. The one thing all three sides (American, British, and Russian) do have in common is fighting the German army, and you do get to play all three sides which makes the game unique. The opening sequence takes place on a rowboat as you and your comrades, you play as a Russian soldier first, cross a river to a Russian city where all hell has broken loose. The opening scene is full of things happening and plenty of eye candy. As your boat makes its way across to unload much needed reinforcements, you wait in line to get your rifle, however the man in front of you gets the last gun! So you get to start the game and go into ...

  • Good Graphics, Fun Missions, Good Controls.

I give this game a 4/5. The graphics were pretty good. The missions were really fun, although, some could be a little long. The controls were good but took a little getting used to. This is the best World War 2 Shooter Game for Xbox! Although, there is no multiplayer mode except through system link or Xbox live, you can't have more then 1 person playing on the same Xbox. I would not recomend buying this as a game to play with your buddies. I would recomend this as a great 1 player game.

  • Game With So Much Potential...

Call of Duty: Finest Hour has been "consolized" and turned from a somewhat challenging and often intense PC first-person shooter into a bland, run-and-gun console pop-gun game. It's certainly not bad and is enjoyable throughout, but it just doesn't excel in a single area. The brilliant concept of following three individual stories of the Allied campaign against the Nazis has been watered down with too many perspectives and no cohesive or interesting story. I cared nothing for any of the characters and felt like I was just going through the motions the entire game. A lack of checkpoints in the majority of levels is questionable and sometimes frustrating. Finest Hour had the pedigree to become the finest console World War II game, but in the end fails to bring any spark or intensity to a ...

  • One of the Finest First Person Shooters Available!

Reviewed for Big Boss Games by: L.E.G. As a lover and avid player of FPS (First Person Shooter) type games, I am probably one of the toughest critics and a game must satisfy all my criteria for me to give it a 5/5 rating. Without any doubts, Call of Duty Finest Hour has successfully accomplished this lofty goal. To start with, Call of Duty Finest Hour is entirely based on events that happened during World War II. But, ActiVision took on a bigger role than just making a video game and actually tries and succeeds in teaching us a brief history lesson. Granted it's very short and concise, but it helps to setup the game and it's many diverse and challenging levels. You start out playing as a member of the Russian Army fighting with your comrades on the Eastern Front, from the Volga to ...

  • Finest So Far

I own all of the other Call of Duty games and found it to be a rather enticing first-person shooter series outside of the Halo and Gears of War games. While offering a series of challenges that mimics real life warfare, you also have the ability to take it to another level online with classes and perks. The graphics are better than most early XBox and the replay value is definitely there. Veteran setting is a worth-while challenge for those who need a little extra thrown at them. Over all it was a great game and I found little wrong with it. Historical accuracy was also very impressive. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something off the beaten path in video games.
