First of all, it is doing what I wanted on the handle bars of a motorcycle. I bought afterwards a water proof case, good idea but I get reflection back from the lens to the windshield, not real bad but it's there on playback, (filter is needed to stop that). I also bought a universal mount that allows the use of a tri pod or in my case a 1" ball mount for my handlebars, (got from ram mounts and express mounts ) that allows me just about any angle I like or need to film. Contour gives you no NO no printed information as how to operare it change frame speeds nothing, That is something I really don't like. FYI the program Story Book has tools built into it for making changes to the camera. (Found that out by trial and error) Contour is fairly quick to respond to questions from their support site. Just plan on getting a 2nd or even a 3rd battery for making it thru the day and the max 32GB micro card as well get a 2nd one. Has a standard mini use port that you can charge as long as it's output is the standard 5 volts. Uses a lot of space on your PC storing your movies so if your gonna keep them all buy a external hard drive to store them in 1TB or better cause 32GB at a time adds up fast. Give youself time to figure it out and I'll bet you'll have a blast with it as I am. Hope I never need it for an accident for proof but if I do it'll be there. Best of luck and shop around for the best price. Mine is the 1080P with GPS, pretty cool item but not needed unless your wanting to send some one to a spot you were at. Cya in the movies...... I've had the origin Go Pro Cam, then the HD version, and was very happy with the image quality. What was very very annoying though was the "invisible" menu (you have to memorize all the settings because the tiny display doesn't really give you a clue, especially when the cam is on your head ;-) ). I'm a paraglider and was often surpassed that the Go pro hadn't recorded the action. The image quality of the Contour HD is IMHO as good as the Go Pro. The great advantage is that you have one button to start the camera, one slider/button to start rolling. When flying, just slide the "slider" back and it's off (a beep also confirms that, in case move the button backwards is not enough a trigger for your brain. Strong great camera. The software that comes with it is great too and I got the contour HD 1080 for about half the price of the Go Pro HD... three years ago.Vollständige Rezension lesen
This camera is a lot of fun and takes excellent quality video. It is simple to use and has many settings. I mount it to my helmet with the goggle strap mount and video my son on his dirt bike while I ride my ATV. The camera is so light you cannot feel it at all. The downside to this camera is that it has no view finder and the 2 red lights that shine out the front are impossible to see in the daylight so you have to guess where to aim it. A little to low and all you record is fast moving dirt. A little too high and it's all tree tops and clouds. Since there's no viewfinder, you don't know whether or not your video is any good until you get home and download it on your computer. After my first full day of videoing my son we were very disappointed to get home and discover I had several hours of mostly ground and a little of his back tire. Even a tiny viewfinder would have allowed me to record a little then play back my recording and make adjustments if necessary. Another downside is most of the camera adjustments can only be made from your computer which is fine except theres no way to know what these adjustments look like until you go out and video and then download it back to your computer. The bottom line...this camera takes great video but you need to be patient and will likely require plenty of experimentation before you actually get get the footage you are hoping for. I guess that means my son and I will have to ride more. I'm sure my wife will understand.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Great product, but almost nothing in the way of an owner's manual or instructions. You're on your own to figure it out. Ain't rocket science, but it would help. Picture quality is excellent. Sound is great too. I've tried to upload videos twice to Contour's site and haven't been sucessful yet. Again, really nothing in the way of instructions. Think they have new software, but not sure. Am going to contact their customer support for answers. (Hopefully)Awesome camera, but lack of instructions keeps it from getting an excellent rating.
I bought the Contour HD for filming my motorcycle rides. I love the sleek looks, the picture quality, and ease of use. I don't like the lack of wind-noise reduction, even when microphone sensitivity is adjusted to a minimum. However, this problem's easily solved by Contour's waterproof case. This thing brings great value to the table and its price point is suited for getting multiple camera angles (I have three).
