I have had this phone combo for a week or two and it does everything I need it to do. I wanted something with caller ID, speaker phone and a headset jack. I have used all 3 functions and it works great. The phone dials a little slower than my old phone (meaning the numbers are input slowly). That's not a bad thing as I use voIP. I imagine that someone who is hard of hearing might have an issue with the phone as it does tend to be a little quiet, but, I don't think it will be a problem for most.
I had been using V-tech cordless phones for years - and they were good; but had a lot of battery problems. So I researched to try something else - and these phones got good reviews. I love these phones. They are superior in every way !! They are sleek and very very solid. Batteries are standard type and last much longer on a single charge. The user interface is very well thought out, And - the phones update each other. If you add a number into the directory of one phone - it shoes up in all. If you clear a voicemail notification on one - it clears it on all. These are the best cordless phones I have ever used !!
I needed a new phone system to go with my Ooma. I previously owned a Panasonic phone and really enjoyed the reliability and features. The new Panasonic phone did not disappoint. Very nice calling and convenience features. Big bright call display. The sound quality is excellent. I haven't found a negative yet. As always, do your research, but for the money, this one is hard to beat.
I bought this particular handset because it was recommended by Consumer Reports and it was reasonably priced. Overall I like it. It has good voice clarity and range. The feel and button sizes are good. The display is clear and menus are reasonable easy to navigate. Occasionally the unit has trouble establishing a connection with the base, i.e., cannot get a dial tone to initiate a call. You need to press the Talk and Off buttons several times in sequence or move slightly closer to the base unit to establish a connection. I suspect this issue comes up if a cell phone or other device that receives or sends radio frequencies is near by.
One of the handsets on my perfectly good but old phone had lost the use of some of the buttons. I was very pleased to find I could buy a replacement and not have the chore of looking for an entire new phone system. So far (two weeks) so good.
