Rosanne Cash has never made anything less than a good album. What we have here is the best of a great catalog. King's Record Shop, along with Seven Year Ache, will secure Cash's place at the head of the class among country artists of the 80's. Every song here is a winner. John Hiatt's "This Is Way We Make A Broken Heart" and John Stewart's "Runaway Train" are both exceptional tracks. Cash and producer/then-husband Rodney Crowell take great these great songs and make them great records as well. Cash's treatment of her father's "Tennessee Flat-Top Box" is also outstanding. Her original material is just as fine. The album closes with Heartbreaker Benmont Tench's "Why Don't You Quit Leaving Me Alone", a regrettably overlooked track. Great songs, from a great voice, with great players (Steuart Smith, Eddie Bayers, Randy Scruggs, etc.). The bonus tracks actually are worth hearing.Vollständige Rezension lesen
